I don't know, did not eat them.

They do stain blue but not as much as some other species.

According to Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World this species is only found on this one mountain, but I think some of the Guzman papers reference it from Veracruz as well. In any case its very rare and only grows at very high elevation. Probably needs it cold to fruit. Cactu has a theory that this species was more widespread in the ice age and now only survives in the high elevation areas.

sounds quite challenging to cultivate outside of it's habitat. :eusa_thin of course i thought the same of zapotecorum initially.

very beautiful species!

really looking forward to more adventures from you two. gives me a warm place to sit after conducting mine lol.

bumping a 4 year old thread.. heh.

mostly for review as i have culture of this. possibly from spores collected on this very foray.

i'll leave it here for a few more days, then move it to the holding tank as archive material.

thanks again for all of the excellent information.

it's an interesting cultivar. certainly the slowest psilocybe mycelium i have dealt with. seems to be picking up speed in straw substrate though. more spawn almost ready.. this thread has me wanting to try a wood based substrate also. we'll see what happens. i'll probably start a thread on it eventually.
