Here's something you don't see much in liquid cultures. It's Trichoderma or another similar mold attacking the mushroom mycelium on top of the culture where there's air. This is a prime reason why you should go to agar with spores from prints you didn't take yourself unless they're from a reliable source. Save yourself a failure.

This is rare so I figured i'd share it. If your culture isn't nice and clear after inoculation, it's infected with a contaminate. Although, honey cultures will show some cloudiness sometimes and will still be viable. http://mycotopia.net...1143052365:mad:

Na! A Panaleous print I traded for is the culprit. You think that's ugly, you should see the PDA plates. Ewwww! He must've took the print from a contaminated substrate or something. Needless to say my trading days are nearing over, with a few exceptions.

Have you gotten rid of it yet? If not why don't you try injecting some bleach just to see what it will do. If you have to open the lid to do that then don't do it. Just curious as to what may happen. Maybe try 0.5 ml? Maybe more? Hell if nothing died you could do it several times.

I'm copying it to the vaults but I will leave it active here for a bit longer.
