I have recently tried genuine french absinthe for the first time. I didn't get to drink that much of it, but I did enjoy the effects of it. I was wondering if anyone has tried absinthe essence made by gert strand AB. Here is the link. http://www.absintheliquor.com/ Gert strand also has a sight dedicated to distilling supplies. Essence is a distilled substance often used to flavor neutral spirits. I am a home beer/wine/liquor maker and this is how I stumbled onto this sight. He claims this essence to be the real deal, I was wondering if he is being truthfull or not. I know that I have tried another absinthe kit that was nothing more than a bag of wormwood and a bag of anise. The intentions were to soak the wormwood in 151 or higher proof vodka and it would extract the goodies out of it. Then you added the anise to flavor it like black licorice. This was completly disgusting and yeilded no good buzz. Please let me know if any of you have any expierience with absinthe in general or with specifically this gert strand essence. Thanks
