They are horse grain spawned to past. horse manure. Cased with peat/verm/lime. Air is exchanged using an aquarium air pump.
15 qt. tubs with 2 holes covered with tyvek.
These tubs make nice little homes, and don't require any attention, other than casing if desired, and the air pump on the timer. Nice for doing bulk imo.
First tub pic is GT.
Second tub pics are of Mex-Cube.

Also, how are the mexi-cube's? I have a grain spawn bag incubating that's almosy ready to birth. Again, looking really good!!

They seem to be a fast grower, they also flush without a long waiting period in between. I like that.

I like the mex-cubes. I like most of the Mexican strains I've tried. They seem to produce so well on bulk substrates.

aint that the truth...hehehe...
fantastic job on this grow freaky...;)

NICE FLUSH!!:kewl:
What is your timer set for on the air pump? I'v just put an air pump on my fruiting chamber and I have it set to 15min an hour, but i wasn't exactly sure if that was enough.

I have my timer set to run for 30 minutes every 3 hours. This gives me 4 hours of air exchange 8 times a day.
Your tub is bigger than mine so I'd say your timer is set well. Just make sure it isn't running so much that it dries the chamber out.
Here are some more links to other Double Tub posts
http://www.mycotopia...ght=double tubs
This is WaylitJim's thread where I first learned about the double tubs, its a good detailed thread.
http://www.mycotopia...light=Shobimono
In this thread, Shobimono explains how his friend utilizes double tubs. They paint the bottom tubs black, which I have started doing now also. Also, I think Shobi's friend fans the tubs by hand instead of using an airpump like I do.
I will search out more photos of the mex-cube's if I can find them. Also, I'll look for anymore pix I have of the tubs.

Do you need the pump?
I seen some people just using tyvek.

jrogers, glad you are happy with the post :) I read a lot, so I've learned to try different things and figure out what works best for me in my situation with the resources I have to use. You can take different pieces of different teks to make them work for you. I've found that there are general rules that need to be followed, but always room for adapting different concepts. Thats what I love about this hobby!
And if WaylitJim would have never written that post about the dub tubs I never would have thought to try something like that. His and Shobimono's double tubs are way better than mine and what inspired me to try them out.
These features are what I like best about using these.
No light needs to be hooked up. I just let them get indirect light from the window.
No humidifier. The manure and casing keep the tub at perfect humidity.
Clean spores, meaning I can have different strains growing without worrying that the spores are going to cross strains like if they were in trays in a fruiting chamber all together with spores from different strains blowing around.
Stealth, I can throw a blanket over them if someone comes over.
Stackable, space saving.
The air pump I use is a double air pump so if I T off I can run the air pump to 4 tubs.
Money Saving, a fan can be used or manual fanning if need be to circulate the air. This means no electrical use at all.
So, those are the features that make me choose the double tubs as my preferred way for doing bulk manure grows.
Thanks WaylitJim and Shobimono for introducing these to me, I really really like them.
