
Food dehydrator to dry shrooms

I've read in the Vaults that you need a dehydrator with an adjustable thermostat so you can use the lowest possible temp. Well, the lowest temp written on my dehydrator is like 35C degrees( 95F ).
So I initiated a test run with a few shrooms and a thermometer on the lowest setting. The measured temp inside was like 45-50C degrees( 113-122F ).:horse:
I'd love to know if this temp kills the magic in the shrooms or not(during a 8-10hour long dyring process).

Does your dehumidifier have a fan?
There isn't much agreement on what temps will lower potency. Some say that temps as high as you have will degrade the psilo, others say it's fine.
I don't know what to think; I haven't tried it myself. Only one way to know...
Maybe divide up your stash, dry half of it with a fan, the other half with the dehydrator. Then eat an equal amount of each batch, giving a week in between to get rid of your tolerance.

When ever I have issues with drying out the shrooms fast I just use a regular fan to get some good air movement over them mushrooms. Works just fine. I wouldnt mess with heat at all, better safe than sorry...

I have a bamboo Chinese bun steamer that I put on top of my dehydrator, over the exhaust holes.

Never noticed any loss of potency.
I just dried a 70g(dry) flush of PE for almost 40 hours at 100 degrees.
If that's not gonna kill the magic... I think you'll be fine.
I never understood it..... everyone says heat till kill em.... but I rarely see this in practice.

And when you done drying the shrooms you can toss some meat on that bad boy and have some jerky.
After making shroom chocolates i stopped believing the hype about heat killing the shrooms potency.

Made TONS of jerkey with the dehydrators.
cup-cup and a half of soy sauce, teaspoon of garlic powder, teaspoon of onion powder, half a teaspoon of black pepper. (all to taste....)
And I use fresh Jalapeno peppers sometimes too.
Edit: forgot to mention a quarter cup of brownsugar or so...
Use super lean meat, par freeze, slice thinly on an angle.
Marinate meat for 8-10 hours.
Load the dryer!
My friends cant get enough of this shit... and the neighbors will smell it from the next house over! lol

Sounds good Bulk. My last dryer literaly crumbled apart from use. The plastic just deteriorated. Thats it, i gota get some jerky. Back in a few.

I could kill for some jerky! I ate jerky for the first time a few weeks ago and it's fuckin amazing! It was a few pack of Jack Link's Beef Jerky, my brother brought it from the US :D
In Hungary you cant buy jerky, it's simply unknown here.
Yesterday my dehydrator arrived and I've seen that I can make jerky with it!! It was like a revelation and now my path is clear...I HAVE TO MAKE JERKY!

On the other hand if you make a few packs, I'd gladly offer a few prints or even pay for it :D

I thought the proper way to make tea was to brew the tea and let it cool for a bit before adding mushrooms, then steeping for a period of time to leech out the magic (and tossing out the mushrooms if you want).
Melting point may not be the true measure of when the magic dies. Degradation of psilobycin could occur at lower temps. I would love for someone to test this in a lab.
Theory aside, my FOAF found mushrooms dried at 90 F in a dehydrator are just as strong as mushrooms that are box dried, fan dried, desiccant dried, or oven dried.

Although I couldnt get around to try the dehydrator dried shrooms, but a friend of mine confirmed that it's perfect. It was really potent(Z strain btw).
