both.
the authorities take a very dim view
of people who trigger gas explosions/fires.
just breaking a seal can be enough for them
to remove your meter,
perma-disconnecting you.

the gas co has a prob with it because their responsibility realy ends at the meter as far as free service goes, they arent appliance installers

same with power, they end their service at the meter, an electrician has to wire the house

any real plumbing co. can do it if you dont mind paying a bit

i think the gas company goes a bit further than most,
for example they often require entry into the residence
to check for gas leaks before they leave.
of course a licensed plumber is qualified
and has the needed forms to certify safety, etc.

ok... so i said fuck it and went and bought a hot plate... it was nice too, the hot plate turned up fully kept my pc at 15 psi thru the entire 45 min. pc. thing was only 7.99 at walgreens. :) so, everything made it thru the pc ok.. the zip ties softened a tiny tiny bit... but all i did was retighten them (they tightened about two or three notches, which isn't very much.). i wasn't sure if oven bags can touch the sides of the pc or not so i placed a big piece of foil under each one (I did three... one for mazzies, one for aussie pans, and one for tex.) then put an equal sized piece on top of that and just rolled the edges together making a nice neat pouch... worked great. :) the tubing also turned from clear to white. not sure that matters at all but here we go. :) more updates as this progresses. :)

how long to make a single kit ?

bag prep= 5 min. (attaching the innoc and vent tubes)
corn pc'ing= 1 hr.
corn rinse/drain/wipe dry= 5 min.
verm. mixing= 1 min.
loading bag= 5 min.
bag pc'ing= 45 min.
innoc. = 5 min.

bag= .90
tubing= airport tubing= .03 small tubing= .06
tyvek= free
zip ties (8 at .02 each)= .16 *I used two zip ties for the main opening of the bag.. just wanted to be sure. :)
jar= .60
corn= as cheap as three handfuls of corn is.
verm.= as cheap as 1.5 handfuls of verm. is

i'm sure myco bags in quantity are way cheaper but i wanted to make this possible by not using mycobags.. everything but the spores can be found at two stores... the grocery and the hardware store. :)

yeah i did... it's the first line in the post. it's not hard in the least bit.. make a small hole, stick the tube in, put tyvek over, and zip tie... the airport is even easier.. it looks like a lot but it's super quick. :)

updates... ok, so i did three of these... i had a problem with them drying out. i taped up the vent holes almost all the way and they are still drying out... pretty sure it's from the other spot where i zip tied the corn from the main part of the bag.. air was leaking out thru there.. this is easily solved by folding the part you twisted up and zip tying that... so you are basically doubling up the wad of twisted up bag. nothing is going to get thru that. BUT, then i thought.. why even do this with corn... not everyone can do corn. kind of defeats the purpose of an easy sterile print tek. So now i'm just going to do it with a pf jar. i'm still going to zip tie off a section for verm. so that i can DE the cake, but instead of corn i'm going to stick a pf jar without the tape over the innoc holes and innoc. thru the bag. then seal off the innoc hole. then just birth, fruit, and print inside the bag. i may also try one where i double up the bag for added sterility. :)

no, not yet, hip. but thats what i'm going to be doing next.. this kinda of went on the back burner.. i lost six bags of corn to drying out so i thought i would give it a bit of a rest and come back to it. i'm pretty confident that it'll work great with a cake so the excitement and anticipation is still in me. the only thing that i'm worried about is the bag being too thin and getting tiny pin holes in it. may try a couple with single bags and a couple doubled up. just may get some mycobags too. got kinda trigger happy with this tek. i was just so damn excited about the concept. lol i'll end up doing a complete re-write up on the pf jar bag tek like i did for this one. only i'll make sure the damn thing works first. then we can ditch this one. :)

this was something that i accidentally stumbled upon... it's basically producing sterile spores from the point of existence via growing a mushroom in a sterile 1/2 pint shallow grain jar and allowing the mushies to drop spores while still in the sterile environment... then retrieving the spores with a sterile syringe filled with sterile water.

Now... all this is done AFTER i have already 'harvested' myc. from the 'faht clone jar'
I still don't have access to a freakin camera so i drew another diagram.

1.) i have just harvested the myc. from my 'faht clone jar'

2.) now i peel back the tape from the lid exposing about half of the tyvek underneathe. I let this sit for a few hours. this dries out the exess water that deters re-colonization. after these few hours, i replace the tape and let recolonize for a day or two.

3.) This is where I accidentally came across this new tek.. I was going to just let the jars re-colonize and then re-harvest the myc. again for another use... but i accidentally knocked one of the re-colonizing jars on it's side and it rolled to the back of my closet and rested with the self-healing innoc. port on the bottom... instead of my lazy ass picking the jar up, I said fuck it and left it sitting there. I forgot about the jar until about a week later.

4.) So i pick the jar up and what do i see? to my surprise and utter amazement, there was a single shroom growing off the re-colonized corn and pointing up towards the light in my closet. there was also a nice dark spore print sitting on the side of the jar directly in front of the innoc. port. LOL I was like "no fucking way" lol

5.) so all i had to do now was pc a syringe with plain water in it and stick the needle inside the jar, squirt a few drops of water over the print. then i used the needle to scrape the spores into the water and sucked the water back into the syringe. bingo bango, the deed is done! :)
so not only did i obtain a clone from the faht jar but i also got a sterile spore syringe. lol this can (I imagine, since i haven't done it) also be done by using pf cake recipe... just put a 1/2 in. of substrate in the bottom of a jar, colonize and put it on it's side... there is only one place for the spores to fall and thats down. :)

Some additional notes: i got extremely lucky when the shroom grew directly over the innoc. port. but i'm going to make a few lids where the silicone innoc. port is about half of the jar lid... so no matter where the spore print lands on the bottom of the jar, i'll be able to retrieve the spores with ease. :)

this first one is a 'faht jar' that was regrown after harvesting the myc. from it. you can see the print that is on the side of the jar just under the lid. :)
