hehe by the way, the hand-made drawing makes your discovery so much better in my opinion ;)

I also enjoyed the drawings.
= )
Great idea. Definitely going to try it.
Why have so many injection points. If the shroom's always going to grow
towards the light, why not just always place the injection point closest to
the ground?

thats a good point cyberdoc although it wouldnt matter as long as you used the syringe immediately. For creating a spore syringe to store that might be a good suggestion.
Thanks hogwild, but the point of creating a spore syringe is to be able to store it, if you want to use immediately then you only need to aspirate some mycelium and not have to go thru the hassle of creating a print then aspirating it :D

Thats a very inventive tek although it seems like a bit of overkill. When you turn the jar on it's side, won't some of the substrate spill about? Spores don't contaminate like living mycelium. Unless there is an obvious source of contamination nearby, taking a sporeprint in the air we breathe everyday is not that hard or dangerous.

you've obviously never been to fahster's house. LOL the idea is that i KNOW these spores are viable. I've done plenty of spore prints in the air just fine like you said... but theres been a good number that weren't fine. esp. in the summer when mold spore count in the air is very high.
although it seems like a bit of overkill
not really, i already took a myc. syringe from the jar that i used to innoc. 24 1/2 pints and 6 quarts. so this is just a little added bonus. and it's sooooo easy... just set it on it's side and wait.
won't some of the substrate spill about?
thats why you need to wait a couple days before you set it on it's side... let the corn re-colonize enough first so that the corn is all stuck together again. :)
