Here's a shot of a few albino A+ tubs that I have going right now
the pins are a little dark, so I'm hoping its not a spawn mixup
with another variety. Clone was taken to agar and a sector was
isolated and thrown into a jar of rye.

AA+pins.JPG

It is a very rhizomorphic substrain

AA+rhizo.JPG

The substrate is a mixture of composted cow manure, EWC, straw,
and coir that was moistened and turned every other day for a month.
There is a gallon of grain in each tub that was cultured in spawn
bags, in each spawn bag I put one cup of a 50:50 EWC:coir mix. Bags
were inoculated by a rye slurry using TVC's slurry technique with rye
instead of BRF. Colonization took less than a week, love that slurry.
Tubs were spawned through mixing, then a 3/4" to 1" layer of sub was
applied. Pasteurization was with a wagner 705 power steamer ran into
a trashcan, internal temperatures were monitored and kept between 145
and 157F for 3 hours.

I have to say, this is the fastest I have ever seen a tub pin, especially
considering the night time temps have dipped into the lower 50s in the
past week. AA+ has typically taken almost 2 weeks to start pinning really
well IME, and these tubs took only 3-5 days. That's another reason I think
it might be a spawn mix up, but I'm hoping it isnt.

Fruiting is done outdoors in a shed, no additional air exchange or heating/
cooling.

This must have been a mixup in labeling, because I'm not seeing any albinism
traits on the fruits. Must be either KS or Z, but I probably mixed in albino
spawn also. :horse:

Nice pinset anyways though. These tubs are pretty interesting, where the temps
have been fluctuating so much at night the top layer of substrate is drying out
slightly and has to be misted. Because of this the fungus colonized the top like
a casing layer, and the pins are forming under the surface of the substrate.

Heres a few shots

I'd bet those are Koh Samui, very nice and pretty flush even if they aren't albinos!

@Nobody I'm pretty positive that I slurried the two strains
together because I didn't have a full master of AA+ to slurry. The KS jar

came from a clone LC master that had been in the fridge for a few months.
I thought that the KS marking on the lid was from last fall's outdoor run.
I forgot that I had started the KS again and had it sitting in the fridge... :weedpoke:
thought that all I had was AA+ culture so I mixed the jars without consideration.

Either way, it made for some pretty boomers!
