Two things.

1) The 'rich' Kerry wanted to roll the tax cuts back on were only those "making over $200,000 per year. It matters not to me if they make $200k from a small business or their job at mc donalds. They can pay their share. When the country's budget is balanced again, we can ALL get a real tax cut.

2) Kerry didn't support the gay marriage issue. He is on the record as against it. The republicans kept trotting that issue out to deceive the people, because homophobia is a hallmark of ignorance, and the ignorant are easy to deceive.

Kerry was definitely not a proponate of Gay Marriage, but he said that he wanted it to be left up to States. That was basically a political sidestep of the issue. A way to say that he was against gay marriage, but that he wouldn't do anything about it, so he could have a chance at both votes. I voted for Kerry, but he was a weak candidate. Take a stand, damnit.
