those cristae are fuckin gnarly. how old do u think those suckers are? 20+ yrs? or just 5yr old grafts? and that varigated one looks like revenge of the mutant cacti to me... :kewl: how do cristae form? can one force a cacti to produce/grow into cristae? and those stamps are pretty interesting to boot.

Crested San Pedros:cacti:

http://mycotopia.net...04&d=1146628746

Notice in the 4th and 6th pics that there are normal buds starting off a crested seedplant!

the second to last attachment displays a house-sized T. pachanoi forest,
cut-down after 15 yrs and it all started with a single decorative shoot.
this site boasts this is the very reason to plant pedro in-ground ;) got 15 yrs? ;p
there are monstrose forms budding off the sides of the beastly formation!
they say it is due to too much fertilizer. wow! 'overbudding' :DPosted Image .....enjoy

T. peruvians f. monstrose

http://mycotopia.net...11&d=1146629541

this one is said to be a monstrose peruvians
however, the only other pic i have ever seen of them, looked totally different (different variation?spine coverage was denser and it looked almost crested growing sideways)
can anyone confirm this one for me?
im almost positive it is, but dont want to misinform anyone :naughty:
