another dangerous thing is that nbodoy on "our" side dies.. So there are no body bags to build up anti war sentiment.. (oh but the pentagon won't let u take pictures of those anymore aywayy)....................

You would rather US soldiers be killed so there is an argument against war?
That's fucked up. There are other means and reasons to build up an anti-war public.

And when the wars in those regions wind down, they're going to bring the drone fleets home and they're going to need something to do.

"They" need something to do? They aren't alive, you know. Drones don't have desires and wants.
Please tell me you aren't insinuating that drones will be used to launch missiles on US soil.
Being used for surveillance, such as use of infrared and thermal imaging, sure.
But missiles?

And I'm not under the "us" vs "them" delusion. I'm in the reality of "it isn't something I can change, so I'm not going to waste my time freaking out and worrying about it".

It's ok, we all are under that delusion to an extent. It's how our brains are hard-wired and we need to spend a lot of effort overriding that instinct with our reason.

Anyway, we have to figure out what "it" is first before we can change it, and talking about it and listing its capabilities is part of that process. Being alarmed about the invention of thermal imaging was not an irrational response for indoor pot growers and these drones can be almost like permanently-installed observation platforms (of all frequencies of light) in the sky. The Supreme Court has already ruled that your expectation of privacy within your curtilage does not extend vertically into the sky, meaning anything a helicopter (or drone, or cop with a camera on a long pole) happens to see while cruising by your property is fair game for issuing search warrants.

What's not in dispute is that we have built a fleet of remote-control airplanes (not robots, technically speaking) that can kill with physical impunity and damned near diplomatic immunity and have done so intentionally to a U.S. Citizen without benefit of a trial in at least one case (from all accounts he was a pretty lousy citizen, but I ain't seen the evidence against him so can't say for sure).

The world might be better off without the guy we killed, but it's an extremely disturbing precedent that must not be allowed to expand (IMO) and I've noticed that the gov. likes to push the limit of how fucked up it is by targeting someone no one has sympathy for for the first instance of some new fuckery (like drone-based assassination of a citizen abroad). It's just like how internet privacy is always being slowly eroded by attempts to ostensibly "protect the children" and they love to point to some recently-busted child pornographer as evidence the latest privacy invasion is justified and necessary. So, we can rest assured the gov will only target child porn, or suspected terrorists... at first. Later on, who knows? Maybe the Feds are gonna put a stop to all that "medical" weed growing once and for all?

Man, yeah its just like that terminator movie....I mean just think how fast or how long would it take for America To Just Shut down and turn into a military dictoatorships run, by an army of generals( millitary zones)... in some kind of Digital nightmare concentration camp?

like 1 week?............................They've got the guns but we got the numbers!!! ( oh wait we have guns too...) good luck!!! bring a lunch.. its going to take u a while.......................................i mean an armed insurgency would start immedieatly......................i think...........

(Drones invariably kill innocent people, who have the same rights as Americans to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The fact that the U.S. government menaces foreign populations who present no threat to us should offend all decent people.)

oh of course don't condone anybody dying at all for anyreason... unelss they realy really really want to..its just a consequence of this sytle of warfare.. i mean the ONe side gets blown to bits while the others most dangerous part of his day was driving to work in his car.................

I get a kick out of the fact that the 'pilots' of the drones always wear flight suits. It makes as much sense as putting on Mickey Mouse costumes (because after all, a costume is a costume).

I think I'm going to start wearing combat boots and camos when I play "Call of Duty™©®" now. :D

i'm pretty sure i posted a reply in this thread, but it looks like it was removed, i didn't get no notice, what's up with that? was it moderated or? i mean, since we're in resist&rebel,
i thought about sharing some general info on the pro's EMP dev,, nothing too specific, cause of course i do not know more, so i did...some thoughts on advancement of rocket guidance and possibility of messing with it..., a neat sugar rocket youtube video and all that...
...was it to explicit? i am on a black terrorist list now or something?:mistrust:

Maybe it just didn't go through for some reason? In most cases when a comment is deleted we can still see where it was located in the thread (but it just says "comment removed/deleted by" or something like that).

But that doesn't mean you're NOT on a black terrorist list now, unless of course you're not black in which case you may still be on the brown or white terrorist list, depending. Anyway, I figure if we're not on a watch list or two then we're probably not living up to our full potential. :D

As more army is replaced with autonomous machines we are going to have a case of war being a game of starcraft. We'll have Korean generals at the base directing troop movement at 300apm

haha!...
but then it's not topia modeeration...yeah the reason it didn't get through bothers me. i hope it was the smoked out me, accidentally...
and yeah, i surely am on the grammatic terrorist blacklist :)

anyway, i might as well re-enter what i've said, so i don't just spill out words for nothing..

-EMP devices are best constructed as explosive devices (an atom bomb blast radiates like a sun of a bitch)...read for yourselves http://www.tfd.chalm...MP.html:hippie:

-i would imagine it is sort of hard to disrupt a drone with this kind of devices, they are quite guarded against emp, being a flying Farady cage. you'd need a rocket,
qaN8jVgmTtc ->
VERY nice...REAlly sweet...AW that's nice.....MAN....that's nice.. . .. . ..it....there it ....ouuuuuu!!

...jokes aside, you need a hard core hacker for drone hack jobs....
.....

...a ordinary cd-player has a 150mw IR laser....if well colimated, it'll strike a match and probably reach miles in clear dry air.. you can get one piece running at 10$ with junk diodes...
but it's hard to imagine how !jammable" drones camera actually are. it's up to the info processing, the algorithm, and programmed decision making. it could be programed to reckognize undesired patterns and filter it out. the military pushes tech. they've got the good stuff.

but seriously, "HELLFIRE" sounds like a crusaders missile. (templars twilightzone:special:)

Ilya, i have a feeling common peeps are also gonna need their basic taichifungkoo arts more and more

"A computer virus has infected the cockpits of America’s Predator and Reaper drones, logging pilots’ every keystroke as they remotely fly missions over Afghanistan and other warzones."

Jamming them with microwaves is no good. Just intercept their signal and turn the drones around or make them all crash at the wrong moment :laser:
It's been done in the middle east before... just does not get much time in the news.

SAYS THAT

Predator is a long-dwell UAV operating in excess of 24 hours. That is equivalent to flying 400 nautical miles, loitering for over 14 hours, and then flying home the other 400 nautical miles. It usually operates around 15,000 feet, although it can fly as high as 25,000 feet. The payload is about 450 pounds. Predator is flown manually by a pilot with a stick that controls the aircraft.

At least seven Predators observing Iraq or Afghanistan crashed or were shot down over the six month period ending in January 2002. That meant that roughly one of every eight Predators in the Air Force inventory had been destroyed. At least nine Air Force Predators and one CIA drone crashed during missions in Afghanistan or Iraq in the thirteen months following the September 11th terrorist attacks.................
http://www.globalsec...ms/predator.htm

well guess you can shoot them down apparently hehehehehehhehe....

yeah its gonna get fun when local law enforcnents got em everywhere......LITTLE INSCET SPIES!!!!!!!!

Well, disrupting the signals between the drone and the pilot with a high-energy RF device tends to bring about the same result, but taking over control of a drone would be several orders of magnitude more complicated.

Nothing has to actually "do" anything to the drone, so it doesn't matter how hardened it might be if its radio link is overwhelmed with noise.

And lest we forget, their pilots have to be somewhere in a building on the ground and in domestic contexts they'd likely be somewhere in the same city. Find out where and drop by for a chat (or set up your grow op or whatever you don't want them looking at right next door, lol). It'll be hard to find out where they are, but not impossible and if the signal can be identified, it can be triangulated.

I guess I could say I'm a fan of the "Little Brother" approach to combating Big Brother. The irony of it all is that they feel the need to deploy drones domestically and engage in un-Constitutional surveillance because there are clearly dangerous individuals who have vowed to strongly oppose the domestic use of drones for un-Constitutional surveillance. :special:
