Oh I don't know about being up there with the bible. That was truly a magnificent feat.

Here's some more picks. Needless to say I will not be using this pillowcase again.

Totally, cool, dude. Super clean and easy harvest too. Very nice.

It's freakin' amazing how fast and efficient mycelia is at moving material to the fruiting sites. Cool pics.

I'm thinking of doing the burlap next. I just loved pulling those mushrooms off of that case. No verm or manure to pull off the bottom stem.

ahem.
rodger is NOT the fellow who began the pillowcase tek,
that honor correctly belongs to
Visions.

Thanks be to Vision. I guess I was trying something Vision style not Rodger style. Thanks Hip for the clarification.

I'm wondering if a few layers of cheese cloth might make for a similar ease of harvest. Maybe also keep the divots from pulling loose with big'uns.

Really nice thread, man. Really nice grow!

Cheese cloth might be a good idea. I like the cloth, better yet the mushroom mycellium likes it.

Sharkie, very nice! I'm betting hanging some fabric cases outside from tree branches would be great.

Awesome thread!

another nice thing about pillow cases is that
if you look around
you can find them with zippers and micro-filtered fabric that keeps out contams, though they can still attack the outer surface.

Mine has been sitting for almost a month and no signs on contams yet.

Beautiful.

I wonder if a totally synthetic pillowcase would be reusable? Soak in bleach for awhile, then PC or something...? I love the idea of super clean picking, and maybe a layer of cheesecloth for conventional grows (I'll try that). I've been wondering about using polyfill as a casing, maybe with hydragel mixed in (planning on trying that too).

SharkieJones:The highest purpose of these forums was realized by your post: Inspiration. Your rotting pillowcase has sent people across the country (and maybe the world) into states of deep contemplation about what furniture or furniture accessories they too might be able to induce to decompose...:special:

TCO: Bjork's pretty trippy, huh? I always did like those lyrics in your signature...
