I found a bunch of these not long ago. About 500 gms (fresh)

Decided to dry, grind & make teas.

I took a few doses this week (teas) & felt some effect. It's kinda weird.

Effects were definately not placebo in my opinion.

I felt a quite pleasant stoned, relaxed & sharp in mind.

It was like a brought on meditation which lasted about 3-4 hrs.

A friend of mine that also had some relayed the same effect..

I'd like more info on these shrooms, at the moment I have grinded the last of the stash & I'm trying to make a tincture out of the grinded TT's, vodka & lime Juice. I'm planning on shaking every day for 2 weeks then squeezing the crappers outta the TT pulp, straining, & reducing to an easier cc per day dosage..

Here's where I'm at, at the moment..

I would love to learn more about this shroom.

Turkey tails are popping out by the thousands around here. I should try them.

I'd just heard about these as well. Seem to be chock full of antioxidants and works very well in conjunction with cancer fighting drugs.
Been meaning to find out more about them and their cultivation.

I have hunted these (well walked out and picked them, they are everywhere around here) many times. I am growing them both indoors and outdoors and have ingested the tea from fruits from all of these sources. Not once have I ever noticed a "buzz". That is not what they are about they have immune enhancing qualities and are very good for you.

I saw this last week. They seem to be an incredible mushroom & I intend on ingesting it for the next month or so, daily.

Just an experiment.

Can somebody give me some advice or feedback from my Vodka / Lime juice tincture??

I'm hopeing to extract the goodies & evap down to a better cc/dosage per day.

The tea was nice but I had a woody aftertaste that lasted a few hours.

I still believe I had a slight effect of this shroom too..

Yeah the PSK's that exist in turkey tail are not alcohal or fat soluable. They are water soluable all you need to do is steep them in hot water. Alcohal will not extract what you want from them.

Sounds like an alcohal buzz then.

Given the amount of people that have died in my family from cancer I am collecting and ingesting ganoderma tsugae, grifola frondosa (I eat these anyway), and I'm working on growing these turkey tails too, outdoors for now but indoors is coming soon. This is great stuff. I have been drinking reishi tea for the last month or so and feel great......we'll see how it goes as time passes. I think many of the good substances found in these mushrooms are hot water extractable, hence the use of teas, finely ground and simmered for several hours although I am also experimenting with the ganoderma tsugae in vodka to attempt extracting and creating a tincture that supposed to have anti-inflammatory effect as well. I have not heard of anyone getting a buzz or stoned from the mushrooms, unless of course you watch Paul and his mother stand up on stage and talk about how she is still here with us......that made me high as a kite. I lost my brother a little over a year ago to cancer, I fucking hate cancer!

Sorry I apologize and have been corrected you can make an extract using alcohal but you still need to do a water extract to get everything. You will only get part of the goods doing one or the other.

I just poached a turkey tail log from the side of the road 2 nights ago. Anyone cultivate these on a substrate other than log? I live in the city, and am hoping to clone these to some sort of grain or compost substrate for lack of logs.

I get a very slight buzz off of most mushrooms (enokis, shiitakes, etc.) Kind of like the buzz from very spice-laden dishes like curry-based Indian foods. Something politicians and groups like the Mormons don't seem to understand is that there are mild-to-moderately psychoactive chemicals (read "drugs") in almost everything we eat and drink. I plan to bioassay T. versicolor in the near future. Any idea what kind of dosage you used in your tea?

My old friend, Will (1892-1980) used to say, "food is medicine in meal-sized doses."

interesting! i love these guys dry sauteed and tossed in a salad, but i've never tried concentrated larger doses. hm

I must agree with caitojones. Almost everything we ingest can alter our state of mind to the point of it being considered at least a "mild psychoactive."

hell, when i'm very dehydrated if i drink a few ounces of water, my vision can go dark and my heart will start racing and i'll feel lightheaded and a bit wobbly for a moment. And that shit is freely available EVERYWHERE!

I think it's all a matter of personal sensitivity, exposure, and being mindful of your consciousness.

The feeling you describe IMHO, means your body LOVES it! It doesnt have to be psychoactive for it to promote a feeling of ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,
which will always be exaggerated if and when our bodies especially want or need or crave something and can assimilate it so well.

Who knows, maybe you prevented some disease process from progressing.
Maybe that dose was all you needed at that moment in time, to feel perfectly satisfied.

Judging from whats said about this mushroom, makes a lot of sense that your body
REALLY likes it, maybe needed it, maybe wants more...

Since its safe and anti- inflammatory, if I were you,
Id definitely get more in my body, perhaps even regularly, for awhile.

Tune into that good feeling, explore it, & please share your lessons.
Turkey Tail is highly recommended by folks who know.

After hearing how your body reacted to it, hmm
& I know you know what youre talking about...
Ive been meaning to learn more about this..

Thanks for the reminder.
I definitely want some.
& Thanks for sharing.

Shipping ideas:

I am wondering if I should put the frame in a plastic bag or not. Would it be asking for a trich infection? If not, would it dry out too much? I'm thinking no plastic vapor barrier best, as the log would probably retain enough moisture for a few days in transit.
