The original problem seems to have been comtamination. Verticillium, as best as I can figure. It was certainly attacking the 'shrooms and mycelia directly.
What I did was take everything apart and bleach the shit out of it all. The Cool Mist had some kinda colony, (pink/magenta slime which looks like nothing so much as a smear of lipstick. But Stamets says Lipstick, or Geotrichum, is associated with compost. Anyone care to comment? I'd really love to identify that stuff), that was growing up above that plastic plate that hides the motor. I couldn't get that off in order to clean it properly, so I just tossed it and got a new one.
Dunked the cakes in bleach (200:1) and re-cased them in vitro. I had another strain already cased in vitro, and I removed most of the top part of their casing, re-cased them, and they ended up giving me a nice first flush, which cheered me up immensely! The original Hawaiians appear to be recovering nicely, and I hope to see a flush in the next week, or so.
Thanks to everyone for their help!

the pink 'slime' sounds like bacteria
while lipstick mold is, well, a mold.

your humidity problem sounds intriguing,
you have condensation, perlite and a cool mist,
your humidity has got to be pretty close to 100%
unless it's all leaking out too fast to help.

btw
i just got a look at the book you mentioned
and frankly i wasn't impressed,
esp. by their so-called 'improved' pf tek.
it's my belief those fellows don't know much more
than what they read somewhere.

me too :|
wait for the pros on this one, sudont.

highly unlikely. there is a reason why growth is stunted post primordia.
dont freak! and wait for more replies.
im sure someone else has had the same problem in the past and will chime in to help
at least someone who has grown HAWs, to reassure you of my notion.

-(no h2o2,P.C.'d syringes full of h2o)

How do you keep your syringes filled with water during a PC run? My FOAF always finds that most of the water has been boiled off when he tries it. Ends up having to do water in a jar, and draw that off with a sterile syringe.Posted Image
