IMAG0018.jpg Slowly but surely progressing. Soon to be picking and hoping that it flushes nicely as there sure are pins aplenty!

You pins are looking a little on the skinny side. I bet they could use a little more FAE.

Yeah, in the past I was overeager and opened the tubs too much.
When I saw that I had fruits on the way I started fanning more. Will be watching them more closely now.
Thanks Cue.
On a side note, these things sure want to fruit!
The leftover spawn of these from my g2g is fruiting in the jar.

From what I see in those pictures there are many many hyphal knots ... Especially evidenced in the second pic. I think you got premature pinnalation going on there and there is a huge flush about to happen following this one.

Keep us posted.

Thats why I hadn't been fanning or exposing to light as if yet. But all those knots sure do bode well.
I've got my fingers crossed, praying that nothing goes wrong to spoil all the fun.
Hyph, should I start increasing FAE as of yet or keep them in the dark for another day or so?

From what I'm seeing , yes I think you should expose that puppy to light ... keep the humidity up and drop temps to about 75 F , large fruiting should follow.

What do you have for FAE at the moment ?

There are small holes covered with micropore tape on one tub, nothing on the other.
I have been opening every other day and only lightly fanning them and have been doing once a day since seeing the knots and first pins forming.
Will start doing twice a day and find a cooler place to keep them.

Had to pick the first one as the veil was starting to tear. The rest are all a day or 3 behind with more on the way it seems.
Tough mycelium. The one I picked had a smaller one attached to the base. I thought it would come up with the larger one but the large one left a stump. I may have to go back and pick the small one to leave a clean socket.
The other pics are just the tubs and the ones on the way. And check out the one with the double cap.

I've started fanning them more often now that they are starting to fruit in earnest.
I'm still relatively new to mushies, what indicates insufficient fae? I'd like to get to know as much about these interesting things ad I can.

I made my comment about the FAE based on them being/looking skinny but it could be strain too. I know for certain if any of my B+ tubs has fruits that are all skinny I need to increase FAE and they fatten right up. These are looking pretty good though. Keep going and you will learn to know how the strain you are working with responds.

Picture 5 especially...is that the tub without holes?

You are correct. Pic #5 is of the tub with no holes.

Is it the way they start off knocked over that tells you?
I notice the ones in the other tub are more upright. I've increased FAE on both but still notice the one with holes seems to look like it's doing slightly better.
More pics for comparison:

You might have a slight touch of vert (vertcillium).... no big alarm still safe to consume.

Simple signs of vert is brown striping on the stem and they lean. this link has some more severe

don't sweat it to much

Pointed towards the tubs would save you a lot of fanning. But hell your doing fine. Great thread and grow.

I thought I saw vert happening but wasn't sure. Seems to be abating with better air flow, less humidity.

Well, things have been going pretty well. Have had a few strange fruits due to the verticillium but, other than that, no real problem.
Tried dunking one tub and think it would have done much better had I scratched the surface and will do so when I dunk again after I get the last of the fruits. I only have a few coming up on the other tub but they have been big so same story with that tub. Will scratch and dunk and hope for more. Have gotten a little over 2oz thus far. Looking forward to partaking. :teeth:

Here's a couple pics of some nice specimens.
