Pretty simple and cheap to make..using:
A roll of landscape plastic edging 6 inch wide
A piece of landscape cloth [weed barrior]
Some insect screen...and pebbles n glue...
A 20ft roll will form the perimeter of 2 gardens with a diameter of 30 inches.
Then clear a shallow depression in a nice shady location to fit the diameter of your plastic edging ring...and set it in place..
Next ,lay in the breathable landscape cloth, to extend up and over the sides of the ring..
Finally cut a circle of fiberglass bug screen 8 inches larger than the ring diameter - lay it flat on the lawn and glue a bunch of pebbles around the outer edge using "GOOP" glue..[i love goop]...
after 1 hour it will be safe to lift...
In the pic below i cut a plastic coat hanger and jammed it thru the middle of the ring ,it supports the center of the screen tent ,,The curvy part is to insure it does not cut the sceen...
The weight of the stones gives a snug fit over the rim and provides easy access to the goods..in this pic some old cakes were thrown in with some poo and have been popping up pretty continously the last couple o weeks..
The other ring garden i made is with prime spawn n poo -they should B poppin any day now...

The rings have been "operational" now for about 3 weeks or so . There are many creatures that would prey upon my fungus -so protection is paramount...
So far the only life form that has penetrated the ion force field:) is the fungus gnat - they are strongly attracted to a rotting cap i left in there..
I found an old can of spray paint which i dusted on the screen to help it blend in - camo style...
Mtn strider ..that's a cool pic man -i could use that for promotional sales at wally world...heee....I'll update if anything pops....
