If U fruited and then dunked your cakes after each flush, I think U'd see the same flushes as internal reservoirs anyway.

i'd agree,
dunking pretty easily makes other methods of rehydration obsolete.

i'd use plastic containers if i wanted to drill holes in them
but that's unnecessary anyway,
the holes should be drilled after the cake is colonized and birthed.

I agree that dunking is the way to go.

You can even go hi tech if you are impatient and using a vacuum jar (or even just normal halfpint jars with metal lids with no holes with the right jig from FoodSaver) and force water into the cakes in about 1 hour. Downside is if there are any pins on the cake they will likely abort with this method.

Best, IMHO, is a 24hour dunk completely submerged and cooled in the fridge to keep the bacterial count down. Works wonders and most pins will survive this type of dunk. :)

Good luck.

Edit...just re-read the thread...seems you are intending to have more of a hands-off kind of birthing for multiple flushes off cakes. Cakes are actually pretty robust and can take a little abuse during handling with only some temporary bluing to show for it. If you do decide to handle them (and if you do you will be able to feel by wieght when they need water) laytex gloves washed in alchol will reduce risk of contaminating your babies. Also dont sneeze on them! LOL

Beautiful Work viral! I know someone that's working on a few 1/2 pints of Hillbilly that's got her heart set on the Chronic tek. Did you follow the tek as is... or do anything different? Thanks for sharing the pix!

Holy Shit! Dude the more I see pics of big fruits, the more I think size depends on environment... it's what really intrigues me about mycology is that there are so many factors to consider to hold shit down to a science. Of course strains matter as do humidity, but to know the order of priority to have the perfect fruit at all times seems slightly impossible! You should clone those bitches and do 'em in a larger sub. Obviously your results seem to be science, so just do the same thing in larger scale! :kewl: They're G-r-r-r-r-r-e-a-t!!!

Just saw some guys asked for more details:
It's just pf tek with multispore, sometimes
I put them in bigger jars.

It depends on how the pins look. That's all.

By the way, I ate them and watched the history
channel about decoding ancient hebrew text
matrixes from the bible, I just stared at the tv
and fried for like two hours. :) Crazy shit.

She started with a Hippie3 1/2 pint Premium BRF mix and nocked with The Good Spore's Hillbilly Strain. Once completely colonized ( 4 weeks at 80 degrees in full light ) it was dunked in spring water for 18 hrs in refrig. Then put in quart jar on riser ala Chronic.... 5 days later she removed this 13gram Mother and Child and Smiled.

She cut it off the cake with a scalpel and was amazed at how hard and dense it was. See pix of one beautiful butt.

Thanks go out to all mycotopians for giving her the knowledge and generous support she needed to grow her first shroom. :hippie:

:) Empty, very nice! Hillbilly strain and Hippie substrate proven as good performers nicely again! That is one of my favorite strains. You did a great job!

Thanks! Hillbilly + Hippie3 = Success.:eusa_danc

Funny how long the road seems some times. She read book after book and never had the confidence to try... it always seemed too complicated. Then heard a rumor and did a search for " Hippie3 " on Google...

Next thing she remembers was stumbling and waking up in Mycotopia. By the Light!

Oh my God, Empty, She has come to you.
Our Lady of the Shroom.

In your third picture above, you can see Her
horizontally with Her head to the left. She is
wearing pigtails and an indian style shift.
She also appears to be floating. The more
look the more you seem to see of Her.

To some this might seem like a joke, but I
see an image of the Lady in your larger
mushroom and for some reason it seems to
have a supernatural appearance.

I'm growing some Hillbilly strain also, and I
hope I get a similiar appearance.

If you dry this shroom it may remain a treasured
rememberance for you, but if you print this or clone
a bit I would be very happy to obtain a bit of it.
And if you eat it Im sure the Lady will take you
on a wonderous trip.

Im not a religious person but I was really
stricken with the image on your shroom.
I would be interested if others see the
image also.

Peace, Raul
