I rarely get to consume the veggies and edibles I plant so i sympathise shroomhunt. That looks like a Conure to me with the black head and blue/ green feathers, but he was not exactly showing his best features.
Then again, you may not really care what kind of bird this is if he would just leave your crop alone.

Have you tried tying silver mylar strips on the seedhead? This works for me to repel most birds........

I was thinking conure but idk for sure. Quaker parrots are everywhere here but they are fully green. Haven't tried the Mylar. Its cool to let them feed I grew several sunflowers last year and have hundreds of seeds. Maybe if I put a bowl full out there he will he those and not the growing ones.
