It seemed a shame to put all the cookie stuff away after the holidays, so as a thank you for a friend who has been helping a lot lately, decided to make some butter shortbread cookies with a few special effects on the royal icing. I thought these came out nice so i wanted to share.

MrG,

I will say you will not be disappointed. These are delicious and this recipe is one that was handed down.

In case you are wondering, before you bake the cookies you must say the words zeeba zabba zero, three times over the cookies. This makes them into zero calorie treats,

Butter Cookies

3 cups flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1 cup butter (you may use cannabutter with regular here if you so desire)

1 cup sugar

1 large egg beaten

1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and baking soda into a separate bowl

Cream butter, and gradually add sugar, egg, and vanilla

Add 2 1/2 cups of the flour mix, then when mixed add the additional until dough looks right ( I have always used the whole 3 cups)

Place dough on saran wrap, cover tight, and chill for 2 hours.

Roll out to 1/2" thick, and cut out shapes with cookie cutter.

Bake at 375* F, for 8-12 minutes (edges only should be light golden brown

Cool

Makes 16, 3" circle cookies

Just in case you also need the frosting, although you did not ask, this is the best royal icing for working with IMO

2 large eggs, whites only

2 tsp. lemon juice

3 cups confectioners (powdered) sugar sifted

You may need to add anywhere from a few tblsp. warm water to as much as needed to get the consistancy you want. You should be able to pull a knife blade across the surface in the bowl, and have the line disappear in 15 seconds. Add your coloring and pipe, flood, or knife smear as you desire. The icing will harden within a few hours.......

Enjoy immediately, or place cookies in an airtight container if you plan on saving them for slower consumption.

I thought about just PM ing this to you Mr G, but decided I should share it with all......

If I used that much of my cannabudder in that recipe people would surely die! Thanks for the recipe!

That would be why I said with regular......

I use the amount of cannabutter needed for 16 doses, and add regular butter to that until I have 1 cup total, and it does change the flavor, but I happen to like the taste.......

This thread did not start out as a cannabis recipe, it just evolved into one. To show the decoration was my original intent.

Made these cookies from this recipe although I used coconut oil and made a double batch and they turned out great. Thanks for the recipe. No icing but I thought about making some orange icing for Halloween. Got 42 cookies since I used half pint jar lid for a cookie cutter which was slightlyunfer 3".

Thank you Sky. Yeah I chilled the dough in the fridge and fell asleep and it was rock hard when I got up but it softened up after I let it sit out. They have no green color and don't even smell green. Going to share them with friends for Halloween.

I used 3 small eggs for a double batch and the dough turned out nice. Got a nice buzz just from straining the oil.

Oil has a limit for absorbing THC and other cannabinoids. Edibles are pretty safe unless you add way more cannabutter than is called for or eat a bunch.

I was surprised to find this out as I though if you make it with more you will get more potent.

That is only true to a point.

They were pretty good. Ate half of a cookie and got pretty stoned that I didn't even need to take a hit of the bong. I get much more stoned if I smoke the herb obviously but since I have some tolerance probably they should be good for others who haven't had anything this quality. On my last cookies someone I gave one to at a quarter and was puking and higher than hes ever been. So it could be than I'm just used to this strain and its effects. Although I only smoke at night after work. I'm not a real heavy smoker or I'd never get anything done. I love edibles though and cookies are fun to share with friends. Ill probably make a batch of cookies with each strain I grow. Coconut oil, or butter. I like butter but this is the first time using coconut oil and I say it was a success.

At wally world going to pick up some lemon juice, confectioner sugar and food coloring for Halloween icing on these cookies since they're a bit dry without anything. Happy Halloween y'all.
