I will have to pick up a costaricensus. Thank you for the advise tasty! I have to take a short hietus from growing active mushrooms so I am trying to satisfy my needs with new things. I have a flair for the unusual and am about to get carried away orchids and other strangeness. I am hunting for a Dracula raven orchid but they are hard to find. I am open to any suggestions for unusual plants.
You're welcome. They seem surprisingly easy to grow-- the stand that i took my cuttings off of spans the entire length of my mom's house and has to be pruned every month. It's hot and dry where she lives though and they get watered daily.
I'm quite partial to lady slipper orchids, paphiopedilum. They come in all kinds of varieties from the very delicately pretty pink ballet slipper looking ones to the twisted, gnarly evil sorceress shit kicking boot looking ones. Love those. Wish i was better at keeping orchids alive.
I also really like the little lithops succulents. They look like tiny little brains to me.

I don't know why, but I just love beautiful plants like these. Just looking at them makes me feel at ease.

Just sitting among my plants and admiring them brings me much peace and balance.

Today I noticed that a "lifeless, sun roasted" container of LW seeds that I'd set aside and sort of forgotten about...still has life! Two little green blobs are now getting VIP treatment!

I really dig this combined thread and seeing what everyone is doing.
The p albia are greening up. Slowly but surly. I think I am gonna go with the Epsom salt. All of these were seed grown except one from leaf cutting. The leaf cutting put 2 out. The one is a lot smaller.

I got the seeds from a member here. Around the same time I started to grow some pre germinated coffe Catura seeds. I offered to send the member one of them when they got their 2nd set of leaves. Well shortly after that topia went down for the first upgrade attempt, then the second upgrade attempt that took SOOO long. In that time all but one of my seedlings died on me. Finally the board came back up and I've tried to message the member to let them know what happened and see if there was anything g else in my small collection I could send but it would not take my messages stating that the member is not able to revive messages. If you read this...sorry man, was not trying to stiff you. Hope your message box is full or something and not just blocking me. I have respect for you and what you grow!
Anyway thanks for letting me ramble on the thread like this. But here is the one that did survive.image.jpg

It's a full sun dwarf coffee plant. Takes 3 years to flower and the 4th to produce fruit.
This is year 1.
I have a brown spot on my LW I am concerned about. It seem like the green guy has grown a little. Which seems strange since they grow so slowly. May be his soil settling in dunno but what do you think about this spot?image.jpg
Happy Saturday everybody!

I would cut that out. Your pup also looks like it's fighting rot as well or is that black spot just from the picture/angle/lighting?
Besides that I would think about replanting in something with more drainage and no woody debris.

Beautiful plant you've got there, TurkeyRanch! One of my little P. alba plants just flowered last week. Very exciting!
Creative One, you also have some very beautiful cacti there! I just discovered today that one of my willies (suspected Decipiens) is putting out a nice little flower bud.

I have been admiring the summer growth until now:
