Older hen? When I was a kid on the chicken ranch we used to get huge eggs from the old biddies. Two yolkers were common, triples now and then, even got a couple quads. Lotsa good eatin'!

HAHAHAHA that's some Darwin Award shit right there.

So I guess it is the motion in the ocean not the size of the prize that moves mountains!

yeah i think the one that did it is about 4 years old. i bet two or three yolks. biggest egg out of this batch of hens. i had some plymouth rocks several years ago that did it on a regular basis. probably another thread around here lol

City bear here...if an egg has 3 yolks does that mean it could produce 3 chickes out of the one egg?

I imagine some King Ghidorah Chicken....now that's a name for a dish at a Japaneese Resturaunt!

I suppose it could with a studly cock - uh, rooster - around.

Triplets? Siamese triplet chicks? Or if it was that guy in Gremlin's post getting stoned with his chick the offspring might resemble King Ghidora!

If the eggs are fertile they will become triplets all with better genetic changes of laying more than one yolked eggs.

I had chickens for 10 years on my 39 acre farm before coming to this other town. I got to observe them a lot and we got a couple large eggs we hatched and two came out.

Sometimes two come out but the third died from either the other two living off it or from it being the runt.
