High again yawl.

Here are some SA's, MultisporeLC on popcorn, spawned to coldpasteurized straw in a single tub, sub depth 3½" cased(after fully colonized) with thin layer of verm(field capacity moist and PC'd) due to a bit of condensation on the straw.

I attempted to clone the big shroom in LC and on cardboard.

SA is a nice strain - nice big dense fruits :p

Wow, those are some nice big Sa's you got there man!
Good job!
I'd like to hear about your pasteurizing process as well.

thx for the nice comments :)

the coldpasteurization i do is somewhat derived from this tek :

http://mycotopia.net...read.php?t=5259

I cut straw in 2-3" bits, load into a pillowcase/cloth/meshbag or similar. Submerge it in a tub with hot tap water and bleach, some rocks on top to keep it submerged, lid on, let it sit for 12-24hrs, drain, and then same process in a lime bath just not as many hours, maybe 6-12.

What's the general fealings here about cold (bleach/lime) pasturization?
Foaf's always steared clear of the bleach on straw fealing it may also hinder benificial micro organisms. When bleach is stated for this kind of preparation do they infact mean BLEACH or PEROXIDE?

Thanks so much.

Thx again y'all. :)

What's the general fealings here about cold (bleach/lime) pasturization?

I do the cold pasteurization because its the best I can do with large amounts of substrate at the moment and because it works. But soon I'll purchase a electric kettle with temperature control = less work and perhaps better pasteurization. I allways try to get by with the cheapest and easiest available materials but man, I get tired with the 'many' steps in the cold past. process when doing it alot, its timeconsuming and not very exiting, it motivates me enough to spend some extra bucks on some gear now.
A compostgrinder/leafcutter is also on the list for cutting straw and/or getting substrate that doesnt need to be cut - compost/dung and such.

In my dreams I'll get a dairy/cheese factory with industrial size pasteurization equipment and a lab for cultures and sealed rooms with climate control and hire some elves to work for me LOL
:teeth:

When bleach is stated for this kind of preparation do they infact mean BLEACH or PEROXIDE

Bleach used here is the chlorine stuff bleach and not peroxide/H2O2

Btw, forgot to give credit to Mr.Waylitjim from who I traded the SA spores, thank you for making it possible for me to work with this great strain.

Cutting up your straw is absolutely important. If the straw pieces are too long, it will take the myc a long time to fully colonize the (hollow) interior of the straw. If the pieces are short, the myc will eat through the outside and inside very quickly.

Straw in long pieces without myc growing inside, won't work nearly as well and will be more prone to contamination.

Cold Pasteurization works VERY WELL. The bleach will only kill all your benefical microbes if you use too much - so, don't use too much!
