ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my contribution to the Topia community.

Burma (thanks to Seeker2be)

Burma spawned to coir/coffee/cmc on 8/4/14. Came out of incubator on 8/14/14  cased with 50/50+ (peat/verm/oyster shell). fruiting chamber is 6qrt 'DubTub'. only 2 tubs this time round

8/22/14, the myc has colonized some of the casing, which is not unusual but unusual for my normal grows. Looks like some pins are starting to form, and NO MOLD  8 days is quick, my normal is 10+

Nice any reason why you case with oyster shell in particular? I think that is the first I've heard of using that.

Interested to see how they fruit for you. I have been hearing good things about burma recently.

Ha KC, ya, Burma is good.

Those look more like trays than logs to me wharf. Looks great all the same, can't wait for fruiting pics.

oyster shells add 2 different advantages, they add a fluff to the casing layer, so it is not laying flat on the sub, which increases evaporation. the second benefit is they buffer the PH, good for multiple flushes.

edit: crushed oyster shell

Very nice work as always, Wharf.  Big boomers on the way, from the looks of those tubs.

this is a special tub just for coorsmikey and to all those who are interested in whether it is light or evaporation that causes side pins. I will stand by my statement that it is caused by evaporation.

That's beautiful work right there.  Thank you, as always, for sharing.

And spreading the spores is always a noble act.
