In case any of you fall through the cracks let one of us know. We'll be happy to fix it.
If you also have your transaction id that would help to confirm if not no worries we can still find out.
Also if you are donating to extend your VIP please tell us so we can make sure it doesn't run out. Till the automated system is set up.

I personally wouldn't send cash through the mail. Maybe a money order?

I have sent money threw the mail I wrap it up in a paper letter or put it inside a card so u cannot see money threw the envelope ;) it does work well ...it might not be a 100% but its been working for me so far :)

At this time PayPal is the only option we have for International transactions. We are working on this and should have another option soon.

I'm still on some kind of probation because I'm new. I made a donation (just a few bucks) and I am happy to donate for VIP status. I like this site and want to support it. I can't seem to figure out how to make a donation specifically to become VIP.

and I'll change you to VIP myself!

I like being able to donate cash , its my preferred method of exchange . got the addy . I need to donate again as I feel Mycotopia is
a very good place . I can't express how much I have learned and the good people here have improved my life. I find this to be a fun place to visit.

Indeed.
Donating cash is tricky. I've pointed out in other threads how difficult it is to track and manage - where to send? who is responsible? was it ever received? - it's too much administratively speaking. Same for Money Orders.
In a day and age where every corner market, quickie mart, and gas station sells prepaid gift cards it allows "digital" payment while keeping your anonymity, if that's something you care about to that extreme. In terms of our currently projected image its difficult to get processing options, and thankfully paypal has been working out. As we work to change this it will put us in a better position for providing more options to our members - however - mailed anything will still remain too administratively burdensome for such a thin organization.
Regardless - we thank everyone for any support in any fashion they can provide it. We're here to serve you and provide a platform and environment within which the community can grow and thrive. All community positive contributions are welcome.

I appreciate the fact that you guys absorb the $0.80 that paypal charges for the transaction. I wondered how that worked, and also how Paypal straightened out their issues I had with them before. Pretty painless, and I intend to contribute regularly, is it possible to donate the $20 and make someone else a VIP?

Yes. Just make a note if can on the transaction, and let an admin know. Protocol may be to just open a ticket as one of us will get it. :)

Sometimes one can become a valuable member of the community and bring a lot to the table with their contributions and get VIP'd. Other times you contribute enough that another member will take you under their wing and support your VIP.How do you get to VIP without donations?

I saw this on another board, completely unrelated to our subject, I just thought it might help everyone see where we are at. Make a goal bar on the forum's front page to let the community know where we stand for the month. If our server costs are 300 or whatever, at the first of the month reset it back to zero. I think if people can actually see that donation bar go up it might help donations. Lets say there is five days left in a month, we still need 120.00 for that month, then somebody who isn't a VIP or is can pitch in by mail or paypal or however they want.

Yes we use to have this goal bar. It was tied to the payment processor that was integrated in the system. Now though this payment processors that we use to have will no longer let Mycotopia have an account due to the nature of our content. They claim that the information supplied here by our members is considered drug paraphernalia, and thus against their AUR and policies. Without the integrated payment processor the goal bar cannot track the donations and contributions. This is not the first time this has been brought up, several members have mentioned this to me recently. I will look into the possibility of turning the goal bar back on and see if we can manually update it. Will also have to consult with the others to see if having the goal bar back up will attract the kind of attention we may not want.
