I would push very hard against sending any money in the mail. It's not guaranteed to be received, counted, tracked, and any of 10,000 other things. If you must you must, but don't be upset when your donation effort goes screwy.

VIP can be purchased in the store. DO NOT SIMPLY DONATE as this will NOT move your usergroup to VIP. We do appreciate donations, however. ;)

so is this a total start fresh for og vip or a renewal? mine expired last month that i thought was for  a year when i got it. not complaining just wondering. im happy to help when im able.

OG VIP devolved into permanent VIP, which was never the intention. The new VIP groups are a "fresh start" to some extent, yes. The biggest reason is that VIP comes with MycoChat and that service is not free. We attempted to make VIP as close to the OG VIP as possible in terms of price, but the package lasts for 3-months. If you continue to renew then your price is actually cheaper than the original VIP packages.

 

$20 for your first 3-months, $16 for all subsequent renewals. If you expire and come back again you'll have to start at the 20$ level again. There is no other way to automate this in a fair way, nor to pay for the services you gain otherwise.

 

Black and Gold VIP are a bit more, but you also get a bit more. All VIP packages will be added to over time. 

 

All-in-all, it's a way to support the community and get a little more back than just a Free Member account provides. It in part pays for the additional features you get, and in part supports the community goals, hosting, expenses, etc.

Even though I no longer have to pay for VIP I still plan on throwing some money every year just as I have every year that I have been a member. IMO nothing has changed in that respect.

ok i dont know if ill need vip ill have to read though it. but regardless  i do love to use this site. its the only one i post on so i will be donating . you all have been a fantastic bunch cool ass people i wish i was able to meet you all in person.  much love to all Mycotopia's staff and member's

Oneeye is correct, I just tried to drop a 10 spot, and it told me the same thing.

Not sure how many of these threads are floating around, but PayPal is temporarily fixed. So please, all you donors do your thing. 

 

On a related note: Logic and cleverness are our friends and we have created a solution that should permanently solve our PayPal issues as well allow us to use other merchant providers. It's going to take some work on my part but we should have multiple payment options again here in the near term, including BitCoin which many have requested.

Most of this topic is not current anymore except for the info about the VIP packages. Please visit this thread for more current information. All donations, VIP, and Auction payments go through private communications now.
