1 part spawn to 2 parts sub or 1:2. I have done 1:4 with no diffrence in yields but did not colonoze as quickly which is ok for me. If you steralize your substrate instead of pasteurizing your substrate then a higher spawn ratio is ideal IMO because speed becomes more important unless you have established a great technique and know what works for you.OK. Im thinking 50/50 coir and worm castings..Whats a good ratio of that sub to the spawn?

working on the bale ,but only growing a few shoebox's @ a time.
V333 yes 10 qt's total.
the difference between a mono and dub is this.
a mono tub is larger , deep enough to have say 4" of substrate and enough
head room ( say 8" + ) to fruit.
a dubtub is 2 tubs one with the colonized substrate and 1 for headroom.
there are pics on here of both. I can post a dubtub pic yet to fruit is absolutely needed.

333, I wrote that wrong above. I meant I could post a pic of a tub that has not fruited yet.
yes there are great pics on here of both types of tubs, covered with shrooms.
I am kind of lazy about taking and posting pics.

No Do not keep shaking. Shake it one last time before you spawn to break it up. Everytime you shake the jar the mycelium has to recover. This causes stress to the myc and will slow down the jar. If your not ready to spawn it when it is ready this toss it in the fridge.keep shaking?
