Thanks again, hyph. Yea I always use wheat bran in my wood based substrates and I have thought about adding to straw for oysters but have never attempted it yet. I will have to supplement with it next time.

I didn't mean to be all nit picky with my peanut gallery comments-- you did an awesome job! Archive worthy, to be sure.

The last post on this one I promise. Just had one more good pic of the 3rd flush I wanted to share:

image.jpg

After all said and done I got 9+ pounds from 3 flushes. As always I end up giving away a lot of mushrooms to friends and coworkers as these guys don't have a good shelf life. And drying them is very stinky. It doesn't bother me as much as it does the wifey, but what's that old saying again? Happy wife happy life.

What a awesome third flush.... I had a strain of golden oysters that fruited outdoors that didn't even come close to the size of those clusters. Nice work getting that basket to fruit.....

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words.

And that's a culture I isolated a couple of years ago. It actually does real well on 2nd and 3rd flushes. After that, nothing. A lot of times I get more from the 2nd flush then I do from the 1st. And the 3rd only flourishes on 1 or 2 sides of the basket. But of course, the later flushes will be less but larger fruit.
