Serving your country with Honor. Here I am in 1959-1960. Maybe in Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri or Ft. Gordon, Georgia or Ft. Ord in California. I am 17-years-old here.

My Niece sent me a box of my families photos of 8 generations.  However, this image is rare as I was already asking the U.S. Military for my yearbook and photos.

I look at this image and wonder just what in the F--- happened to me.

I often look back on pictures and silly little sentimental items.  Those things hold much worth!

I was in the us army and mk ultra .

I found out I was worshipping a false god - America

I would do anything for America, and did.

I paid the price for that . I am a better man for the experience.

John McCain said he became a better man from his years of torture
in a north Vietnamese  prison.

I hope you all had it better. don't feel sorry for me , I needed  that all to make me a good human.

if the gov  said do this , I would as if God told me.

the universe did all this to teach me I was wrong and to show me the way.

peace

When I joined the navy in 1964, I believed everything they told me.  If anyone asked me, I knew it.

That's a benefit here at Topia, I have many friends here and age does not make difference. Just like minded folk hangin out! Sounds as if you might be surprised at all the young minded people that frequent here if you knew the age of who was speaking?

i concur, you are absolutely correct when it comes to age.  i frequented a different page and it seemed as if everyone was young and always wanted to argue.  i do not know the age of who is speaking and am not sure of the people who frequent here.  i enjoy the topia, it just seems like a lot of the threads i look at are kind of old and i am not sure whether or not i should respond to them.

Yes there is maturity and wisdom combined here which contributes to the vibe. You're more than welcome to bump or revive old threads. That sometimes reminds us old farts to revisit subjects left behind. Also brings out a new modern perception to the idea. Other times it's like "why did that guy bump that old ass shit". You never know until you bump it I guess. :) I personally like the fact that you care enough to read through the older stuff as that shows your interest in the knowledge and wisdom it carries, and the other less mature stuff to I suppose. This community is about sharing our successes and failures to help others develop their skills, teks , but a big part is learning from one another. There is more here than just how to grow something, there are many lessons on how to grow as individuals.

I survived acid, mescaline, psilocybin, Amanita Muscaria, and PCP.  I probably have forgotten a couple, which proves I did them.  I never really thought about getting old. Shit happens.

Thanks for the thought, but like so many others, I was duped into serving in just another of many illegal wars for the rich.  I wasn't too sharp or experienced.  Ya suppose that was what someone wanted?

Never forget that I fought for your freedom to hide out here using anonymity in the shadows because the things we all love here were made illegal, but of course we will feed all the fighter pilots all the amphetamines they can gobble down.

As I have so often said over the years, if I had it all to do over again, I'd be Canadian.

Well Alder, according to your philosophy, you can have it all to do over again if you want to...I hope your right too! If the many worlds interpretation is correct, you've already done it... :)

Myself, I'd go to Belize, might go there anyway. Or perhaps one of the virgin islands...I bet stuff grows well there...

Canada ain't what it was in the days of the Vietnam War, it's true.  I don't mean to appear to have a philosophy.  I can't help having one projected over my presence here.  That's not up to me, though.  I do like to talk about my old life sometimes.  I even still watch submarine movies.  Watched two in the past week or so: Das Boot, and Run Silent, Run Deep. Two of the best from a technical and spiritual standpoint.  Fairly accurate, technically, and especially, DB, gets it right, emotionally.  Oh yeah, Yellow Submarine ain't bad either.

yeah i had thought about signing up for the military once but decided against it.  not that i am against the military, i just think it is not for me.  although i do know if i had a no choice but to be in the military, i think i would like flying an airplane or being a sniper more than anything.  that would be kinda interesting besides, i like amphetamines!
