Just wanted to give you all an update that the server migration is now complete. It would seem as though we finally made it and so far so good I haven't seen any issues crop up.

 

Please keep your eye our for fishy shit as there may exist some kinks that need worked out. 

 

All-in-all you may do well to flush/clear your browser cache. I don't think it's a requirement though.

Ok, just turned everything back on. I guess this is as good a test as any!  Let me know if anything is broken...

There will be some tweaking I'm sure of it, but for now it seems we're back to good.

True tweakers never really quit - they just lose their teeth and end up in Federal Lockdown getting caught stealing silk ties from JC Penny, and returning them to another JC Penny, ten times in a row on the same day, same stores.

Site runs great Zen  :)  Good to see you're still kickin' it (old school)  :)

Everything seems fine. However, I have not tried to click on my notification updates to see if I can access them when I first come to the site. For a long time now I have had to click on an existing post or click on 'new content' before those notification menus will populate/update with information.

 

When I get some new notifications and come back to the main site I'll see if they load without having to use the above work-around.

When I mention ANY of the above, I'm doing so from the perspective of the FULL DESKTOP MYCOTOPIA SITE.  Not mobile. Not Tapatalk. 

 

So please, only comment on things IF YOU ARE USING the FULL DESKTOP SITE.

 

The other two will be dealt with separately. :)

I still need to, on my desktop, click an existing post or click on "new content" before I am able to click on my likes or PM notifications to have the menu display/populate where I can access the content.

I can't seem to edit, delete or alter other members postings, or ban people, wait a minute, I never could do that.

 

From a desktop standpoint, you get an A+ in usability, and response.

 

It also was very user friendly during the migration which in itself is impressive.

 

If I need a website done, I know who I'm pm'ing.

Just a quick question and thank you for getting things squared away. When I go to the site now after the switch, it says its not secure or someone might be trying to steal my info/password... It also says it doesnt recognize the site server... Is this normal? It asked if I wanted to go back to saftey or continue. Is this due to the new changes, thanks. Myco

Heh, I had to MAKE that, can you believe it? This platform only has default RED or no color boxes, no green. pfft

I'm looking into that. It has to do with the SSL cert we got. The below screen shot is from Chrome, but it basically outlines that there may be some items on the site that are not using https to load. Since the page is mixed content with some http and some https the browser security yells at us since everything isn't secure.

 

Our main purpose with ssl was just to keep the traffic between you and the server encrypted. Since we'll soon be doing transactions and store based purchasing we'll likely need to upgrade our cert and deal with these mixed content issues. Just something else on the long list of things to fix. :)

 

You can try to clear your cache, but I don't think that'll help the error you're getting...

Maybe I should make a yellow one too... for informational type messages vs error type messages. PAY ATTENTION TO ME but without the negative feeling you get from red. lol - the green is good for globally positive messages I think. i.e. migration complete. :)

 

Despite what many may think, an inordinate amount of thought gets put into every detail of this place. There are just so many details that it takes a tremendous amount of time to affect all systems. This is why there are now several site admins. Finally... progress...
