I need to get this posted.  The picture is a few days old already.  Sorry that it is so dark.

WW.JPG

She is flowering away now.  I hope I can keep her from being eaten by caterpillars.

Very impressive lush compact plant looks just like my plant did at that age indoors, but your plant has very wide leafs......I was hoping for a little more indicate in my plant but mine looks bout 5/5......

Any way the.cfls are magic man, they do great I think. If I was you I would too and lst that plant until it's loaded with tops. I had mine under5000 lumens cfl for about 2 months and just put her outside, now.sheis doing well but I believe I could have gotten really really good trips and buds indoor too, but my plant got forced out. I say you keep it indoors and add enough cfls to get around or over 10000 lumens......not hard really, I found some cfl.coolblue 1600 lumens for like 8 buks and I grabbed 2, plus a 2700 lumen warm color cfl......so let's see u need maybe 8 lights and you would be golden. Just remember never keep them cfls more than 1
Foot from middle to tootsies of plant for maximum Lumens or bang for bucks.....and they stay.pretty cool so just a fan during.begging would be.fine. But for increases yields always have fresh air from outdoors flowing in and out......looks super good luck

Sorry for the misspelled words and wrong words. My phone texting And it changes words on me. So i meant to say keep light about 6 inch from tops of plants that way they grow nice fat stems compact and loaded with leafs and spots for buds.

As far as air flow, the fan during vegging indoors fine, but I have seen and read, about the big increase in yeilds during flowering When fresh air from outside is constantly rotated into grow room. But that may not work for your set up but If u can get fresh air in the grow room during flowering you will get better yeilds.

This WW grow has sort of morphed into an experiment to see when might be a better time to put bushes out to flower.  I have been dragging my ass on posting. Sorry.

So around a couple weeks ago my first WW had dropped all the fan leaves.

WW 1 week ago 1.JPG WW 1 week ago 2.JPG

Today she is getting close to ripe.  I have been bringing her in a night to keep her dry.

Now for a little bud...

Here is the WW garden.

The first plant was put out to flower on solstice.  Plants 2 and 3 were put out a month later.  The fourth plant was put out 1.5 months after solstice.

And now for something completely different.  Pineapple anyone?

i wonder if they are dropping fan leaves from nitrogen deficiency

or being root bound? those look like awful small containers and

they put out huge root systems outside. you should give the cloth

shopping bags a go next year, they hold a cubic foot of soil and

function the same way as a smart pot. they prune the root system

and redirect growth towards the center of the medium.

looks really frosty, and im curious to see which time frame of light

grows the best plants.

I wonder about those fan leaves too.  I have been feeding them with tea.  The advantage to growing in pots is that I can move the plants indoors at night.  I don't need to move the younger plants now because the bud isn't that dense, but later on it helps.  I would like to put them in bigger pots but moving them is hard on the back.  My older plants is loosing bud, I hope she finishes soon.

make yourself some carts for 'em! an 8' 2x4, some scrap plywood(which

lowes or home depot usually give away), and casters. we always kept our

big mommas on carts, it's a lot gentler to move them that way when they get

larger. doesn't disturb the flowers.

A cart is the way to go, then I can mow the spot.  Well I need the exercise.

I need to get my lawn done over this winter, that is if wife will OK it, again.

As it is now, a cart would not be a smooth ride.

The first WW plant spent most of its time growing in overcast conditions.

Only toward the end of August can the June Gloom be expected to let up.

The skies are typically clear in the fall.  So putting the plant out before August 1

is flirting with wasted flowering days.  I was loosing days when flowering is cranking.

These grows are also experimental.  I have grown a lot of bud so far this year.

When I got the WW seeds I planted one so that I could makes some clones for

the guy who gave me the seeds.  The poor bastard couldn't get any of his seeds

to sprout.  Terrible.  So I thought I would go for a natural looking grow.

I did not do any more LST than needed to get some spread in the branches.

I did a single CFL and then 5 CFL veg on the first plant.

The clones, which I ended up keeping, were initially vegged 24/0 under a CFL.

Later they were vegged outside by day and with only one CFL by night.

The first 2 clones were vegged together under one CFL and

the third clone was vegged with a CFL all its own.

Only the last clone was vegged until it was at least a couple weeks into

the last transplant.  The first plants were put outside to flower

right after transplant.  There will be little root growth in the extra soil.

So I think a way a coastal So.Cal. med grower can make it work is to

veg a plant so she is ready to go outside early august.

I will probably LST during a longer veg the next time around.

I chopped down my big White Widow.  She was white with trichomes too.

Its not called White Widow for nothing.  I had to pick, too much bud was dying on me.

She was pretty close too.

one more thing to keep in mind- some plants just yellow on the outer fans

no matter how much N you give 'em. we grew lemon G, an ohio cutting

that is the most pungent lemon cannabis i've ever smoked. that plant

would look like it was overloaded on N (leaves looked waxy, hooked, tip

burn) and still be dropping its oldest fans to what appeared on those leaves

to be nitrogen deficiency. my guess is that is an evolutionary advantage

for equatorial plants since the underbrush growth is so thick, but soil humus

levels are fairly high. pull what  they can from the bottom stuff and relocate

to the tops where it is less likely to mold.

I think this WW is just a fast maturing plant.  It needs high intensity indoor conditions.

One thing is for sure, this plant should be SOG trained for outdoor flowering.  Make up for low

intensity outdoor lighting by vegging up more colas.

A slower maturing plant is a better choice for outside.

I need to watch out for those damn caterpillars.  One of my colas got chewed up bad before I found the mofo.  I hope neem works.
