Here are some more wax caps
This one has a brown cap but under the cap the rip is purple color I was surprised when I looked underneath
I think these next ones are waxy caps too??
the gill shape looks right but the cap top looks a bit off to be a wax cap but I think they are??
I still have more of these to add I think but this is good for now.....gota get some more pictures ready and I will be back :)

we have had some rain now and the mushrooms are making up for a sslow slow start :)
??
this one was a really nice shade of pink .... messing with the camra settings i was able to get the color just right
lobster mushroom maybe forming on the russulia seen above ....this mold will leave some mushrooms so they can reproduce for the next year for food.... leaving some of the group alone this way looking around you can see what mushrooms the lobster mushroom could be growing on
I love this tree ear stuff ....it dries well on a paper bag
This will grow on trees after a mushroom crust type grows on the log first and usually lots of lichen....
This is because the tree ear needs some yeast / bacterial connection to grow first.
maybe breaking down some of the tree first cuz it takes about a year or 2 of laying on the forest floor before finding tree ear growing on the logs of balsam by that time the bark is falling off the tree / log .....
after a year or 2 the log will be broken down and the mushrooms moved onto a new balsam log.

Pholiota I believe SkyE I just did a quick check...... ......Climbing threw the brush and fighting the spider webs away was worth it to see these up close they r one of my fav mushrooms to check for every yearThanks buddy :) I have more pictures comming too the rest of the hunt .... ..... I cannot remember the name at the moment but I think I started looking last year checking Straforia ?? .....
and same as thoes yellow Amanitas sometimes the way the sun hits them is just beautiful :) They stand out but also blend into the yellow fallen Birch and Cotten wood leaves its fun to look me and my hubby trying to be the first to see this one or that one hey look there is one over there :)
Im lucky this trail is easy to hike but it was so hot and muggy yesterday and the mosquitoes were bad too
..... we had a little surprize yesterday too and had to turn back early ....something heavy was walking in the bush and 3 big chash / thumps you can feel in the ground .... hubby doent turn back early ever so when he suggested getting outa there I didnt waste any time a Moose or a Bear was in the woods somewhere they are the only heavy animals not worried about making noise around here .... Im thinking more Moose since we were in a low area and the stream / swamp was comming up but Moose in the fall :) good to stay away from ....even the birds were quiet yesterday making the woods sound weird making you become more aware

and here is
the last of this hunts pictures
I know this flower as Devils paint brush
A white Amanita
these were popping up all threw out the trail in the middle of the trail
and another Lactarius
The milk is the same color as the gills almost
white spore print on these mushroom caps from the one I picked
and finally the treat Ive been waiting for :)
and Sky I took this picture for you :) You mentioned to me you do not have leaves changing color .... these are the first trees to turn
the berries are long gone
they are the first cherries to have fruit here and the cherries are the same color as the leaves :)
Fire cherry or pin cherry they have tiny fruit but they are sweeter then our choke cherry and black cherry we have here to the north
the birds love them but they loose their leaves early in a few days to a week this tree will be bare and other leaves will be changing color then
yellow Amanita ans Bracketed wintergreen

well we went out again and careful we didnt see or hear any animals this time big ones anyway... we went and checked out the black trumpet spot Moose area and found some goodies :)
a large Lactarius that the lobster mushroom eats these ones were in the leave alone zone so the lobster mushroom will let these spore so it have food for next year the forest floor is smarter then we think it is
an unknown
a sign of a smart chippy :) hanging his Amanita mushroom out to dry :)
this one was close by I left it alone so the chippy can have it for tomrow :)
see if I can remember the spelling .... Russulia ? ok no i Russula
Lactarius
an Amanita fulva? something like that
this one grew long and fell over fallowing the trail hole or looking around the bend lol
something digging up this dead tree
and going down into the low area where the black trumpets only grow on this side on this creek cant find another area yet but Moose areas arnt that easy to get into
can you find the black trumpets in this picture double click on the picture below
