How Congress turned on the DEA and embraced weed

It's not easy being the DEA these days. After an unprecedented losing streak on Capitol Hill, the once-untouchable Drug Enforcement Administration suffered last week what might be considered the ultimate indignity: A Senate panel, for the first time, voted in favor of legal, recreational marijuana...

It’s a war that began on or about May 26, 1971, when President Richard Nixon told his chief of staff Bob Haldeman, “I want a goddamn strong statement on marijuana ...I mean one on marijuana that just tears the ass out of them.”

What's hilarious about this statement is that it was recorded just prior to the one Nixon made saying, "every one of the bastards who are out for legalizing marijuana is Jewish.  What the Christ is the matter with the Jews, Bob?"

Maybe Nixon's war on pot was in part an expression of his raging anti-Semitism?

But yeah, the DEA has taken some big hits lately and thank Jebus, seriously.

It's nice to see that cannabusinesses will be able to actually use banks and have the full protection they provide. Being forced to deal in cash with that kind of business is just asking for trouble!

Times are changing quicker than I thought that they would. Maybe in a few years I'll be able to enjoy worry-free pot.

Meanwhile North Carolina ( where much good bud grows) is still stuck in the 70's refer madness and won't even legalize CBD oil. I know mothers here that are willing to break this law for their kids with sezures because it helps so much. I get so damn fucking mad at this obvious insanity!!!!
