Sorry for the hiccup folks, but the domain expired without warning to us. Domain contact is MrsH and she's clearly inactive these days. Left unanswered the domain expired.

 

We're good now.

 

The contact has also been updated to a "group" which emails all the site admins, so moving forward there will be several eyes on these types of notifications.

Thanks Zen. Glad its  just a hiccup. was worried I jinxed the whole damn thing.  Already "Able to kill threads with a single sound" i figured my latest rash of post (all 3 or 4) was enough for my anti-superpowers to really piss off the machine. (server)  :P

I'm glad that's all it was. I'm new to mycology and didn't want to have to go to any other sites. I like it here.

I thought it was my ISP at first, but then I went through a few web proxies and used some of those "is this site down?" websites and, sure enough, it was down because the domain couldn't be resolved. I also did a WHOIS lookup and noticed that the domain expired on the 21st.

 

I couldn't find your e-mail, Zen_, or I'd have tried to let you know what was going on.

 

Fortunately it all worked out and now more than one individual will be notified if it ever happens again.

Thanks for getting us back online! It was interesting reading other omc sites during the outage to see peoples reactions to the site being "gone". There was the typical shroomery "good riddance"posts but they were shutdown in favor of a "those are our collegues" post by management, which was very nice and appreciated.

Then there was Cue (who goes by a different name here now)...

Yeah, I saw that the Shroomery admin took a diplomatic stance but man the rest of that crowd were totally kicking us when we were down.  It was kind of disgusting.

I saw the shroomery thread as well. I never got the whole competition thing. It just doesn't interest me.

Let people say what they want that's their karma and they have to live with themselves. I always look at where it's coming from. It makes me sad that people talk that way. But no time to dwell!

We're back up for the members that's what matters to me! I want the members to have a place to go to. So I'm really happy we are back! It's good to see everyone again!

I have been looking for the thread Hip started when shroomery went down. If i remember right it was "Welcome shroomery?????"

 He told me specifically to be nice lol.  As well as let them discuss, get updates, ask questions etc..  As long as there were no problems/violations of our rules, no instigators and insults, all was fine. And if there were problems he said He would handle it.

 

I can't remember word for word, and I believe he told most of us the same basic things. maybe a bit more sternly or privately to a few of us. hehe.

 

Anyone know how to Locate that thread? I cant find it.   I believe it went very well. I'd like to re-read and make sure. If so I'd paste it over there just to say. Yes your site has grown immensly, but your mentality sure aint.

Hip was a real honorable person and the Welcome thread was very popular with the Shroomery downtime.
We had many visit in a civil way and it's a very honorable memory Foster!
