Your pics by the water always remind me of the Modest Mouse tunes built around the fishing biz in Alaska

I'm guessing you deep fry those seals whole, like dunking a whole turkey in a pot of oil?

LOL, I almost spit beer allover my computer Pharmer.

Those are sea lions, not seals BTW. An easy way to tell the difference is by the visible ear flaps.

Here is a nice house for those of us that don't like to mow the lawn.
no lawn.jpg

And here is a pic of what was waiting for my wife outside our front door.

She had seen this poor fellow out the upstairs window and was going to try and sneak up on him for some pics. But he relocated to eat some rose hips on a bush just to the side of our front door as she was getting the camera. So he was just a few feet away when she opened the door, I'm not sure who was more surprised, lol.

We have a Nikon D3200 but frankly most of my pictures are from my Samsung S5 or iPhone 5s. It's always on me as rhe camera is kind of a planned thing to bring along..

Here is a couple of landscape pics of mine.

And this is a pic of the Pioneer Home, a state run old folks home is Sitka, you have to have been a resident of the state for over 30 years to be eligible to reside there.
pioneer home.jpg

It actually used to be the Russian barracks back when they still owned Alaska (Sitka was the capital then). I believe it was built sometime in the late 1800's

That's up in Alaska? I was conversing with some Speros from Alaska about some of the spearing they have been doing up there. I've tried looking around but can't find any information on the legality of harvesting fish with a spear or spear gun.

Looks absolutely beautiful. I'd love you toss on my 10mm dive suit and test those waters free diving. looks like a magical place!

Thanks for sharing

Yes sir, those pics are all from AK. It is truly beautiful, my pictures don't do it justice.

I know those waters are full of all kinds of life, but I have no idea about spear fishing, or the regs that go with it.

I'll share a few shots here. Most if my pics pose a security risk so I can only Share a few I do apologize.

Ice Caves Kananaskis Provincial Park
This location is a decent hike in from the parking lot. It's a full day trip if you wanna explore the cave systems in the area. I've done a few trips up here and know the cave very well. And a few other caves In the area.

Here's where we are headed...

Here's the entrance of the main cave

Here's a look out from the entrance off to the left through the valley is where we had to trek in its a blot 13 km hike in then a scramble up the mountin to the entrance.

The cave system goes back pretty deep. But for the average person with basic equipment and a group of untrained cavers shouldn't venture in more than about 1000 meters as it gets real tight.
It's a lime stoNE cave and has beautiful ice crystals that forum on the ground from dripping water and huge ice crystals bigger than a person. Care should be taken to avoid dusturbing these magnificent formations.

Floor formations

Lots of belly crawling in needed to enter the various caverns.

This is an ice wall that blocked off a large section of the cave a few years ago. It's very think a few meters to be persice. (shitty photo)

we entered another cave close by to see if we could find another way in...

Here's what we found... (someone tried digging into the cavern that was blocked by the ice wall. They didn't reach it yet. Tools looked older son not site how recent it was...

Here are some other caves we checked out as well in the area.

I am here to report to Juthro that I am presently flying into the Alaska back country.  Well, to put it differently, I am in the opening scenes of the movie,  The Edge.  I got it at a thrift store and have never seen it.  Wish me luck, Juth.
