What I haven't figured out is how to post it at its new reduced size, instead of as a thumbnail.

Here is the easiest way to post full size.

You post as usual, a thumbnail will post. Save the post

Go back to the post where the actual thumbnail shows, and click on it to bring it to full size.

At the bottom right there are two options, close and save.

Click save, and the picture opens in a new tab.

Right click that image, and select copy image, then close them all down.

Go back to your post and select edit. Click the cursor where you want the full size image placed, then press Control and V to paste if you do not have a paste button.

The full size picture is now where you want it, and the small thumbnail will be at the bottom.

What I do is only one step different. I click "Save" and when the new tab opens, I right click and select, "Copy Image Location."  Then I come back, click to close the image, hit Edit and click the image button in the tool bar above and paste in that URL when the box for it opens.

This is kind of a cool pic I was able to get of a raven taking flight.

Man, I don't think there is enough coffee in my house to make me figure this out. I appreciate the help guys, but I seem to be inept.

I had never before seen more then one or two sea otters at a time in the wild. I wish I could have gotten a better close up of these not so little guys.

Sea otter facts: They are the largest member of the weasel family in the world and can grow to be over 100lbs. A large communal group of sea otters is referred to as a raft.

raft of otters.jpg

And the photography lesson I learned that day was, no matter how much you prepare, some times you just have to get lucky.

I saw this guy waiting for this whale to resurface, and dive, but it went under his boat and then dove on the other side.

Again, thank you for the kind words Pharmer. I have been enjoying using my new toy very much.

But like you said, location, location, location. If you EVER get the chance to go to Sitka, I advise you do.

Sitka is a lot like other Alaskan locations, flat land is a premium. Sitka's airport is made from manmade fill. Here is a nice shot of their airport with Mt. Edgecumbe in the background.

edgecumb.jpg

Edit: I should say that Mt Edgecrumbe is the name Cap. Cook gave the mountain. There is a movement to change it's name back to the native name (that I cant pronounce and don't even know how to spell).

Cap. Cook, and his adventure is no hero around these parts.

And I am loving all of this. I hope to learn a few things as well. May not be the safest thing, but this picture makes me want to swim with the raft.............................

Thank you Skye, your words are more meaningful to me then you know.

I wish I had a bigger lens for those otters. The biggest group (raft) we saw on that trip was about 30 otters, but they were in shallow, rocky water that our tour boat could not get close to. The pic I shared was by far the best of my otter pics from that trip.

Don't get me wrong though. I am so happy that I got this new camera and lens's, or I wouldn't have what I do to share.

At the risk of being a thread hog and monopolizing Skye's thread, I will share another pic this morning.

So for all the praise that I have been singing about Sitka, if anyone was interested in living there, this small island and lighthouse happen to be for sale. $500,000 and you get the lighthouse, home, and the whole island. Lock, stock, and barrel.

My new favorite. Taken the night of the supermoon/eclipse. Taken at around 3:30 a.m. Breckenridge Colorado time. It's a mystery to me why the horizon is so well lit. That's the west horizon where the sun would have set approx. EIGHT hours earlier. Anyway, the lighting is full moonlight, city lights, and a flashlight lighting the trees in the left foreground.

Really happy with how this turned out.

Very cool photo Pharmer!

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of shutter speed did you use, and I assume it was taken from a tripod?

IIRC three seconds, aperture wide open, ISO 600. Definitely a tripod.

I'm going to ask if the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce or other civic group would like the use of this for free as long as my name gets plastered all over it.
