My orchid cactus are all in bloom now. This morning I caught a pic of the two main varieties.

King Midas is a beautiful gold/with pale orange

Professor Ebart is a hot fuchia and pale, almost white pink.

Nice stuff juthro, skye, and FNG MCCTW!

Damn! I gotta get out of the house and take some pics. Feeling like a slacker in this thread.

Juthro are you working much in manual mode? Given your frequent low light situations I'm thinking you'd benefit greatly by shooting aperature mode and let the meter expose your pics. That way you'd be funneled into focusing on focus and composition and let the meter better your odds of "enough" exposure.

Not to say your shits' out of focus but you clearly are fighting the low light. Don't we all. But you got it double tough up there. It's obvious in the grain that you're struggling for light.

Or you could flip that script and ignore most other things and specialize in exposure until you can light every pic like Golden Hour.

"Dammit, there he goes with the homework assignment again" "Doesn't he know I do this for fun????"

Malabar coast fruiting on agar. From my agar thread. It's just so pretty that I thought that y'all would appreciate it, it almost looks like an exotic fruit, it has that shiny ribbed cap.

I'm more impressed with the myc growth (which IMHO is pretty spectacular), but the whole package is cool, and it is a nicely exposed picture as well.

Nice pic Cat :)

Is this also from your phone? (I still have a flip style phone from Track Phone, lol)

Thanks man! The ridiculously rhizomorphic growth is expressed by the strain on a regular basis. Here's where I started documented it if you're interested:  https://mycotopia.ne...r-30/?p=1312587

It's a samsung note, possibly my favorite phone that I've ever owned (I've owned a lot of phones)
