Absolutely roscoe. The only way a bag can melt on the metal is if you run out of water or even too low on water. Or maybe if you use a badass 100k btu propane burner lol. Nice write up wharf!
Myco Bag Step by Step (Substrate)

I have had bags melt, usually the side of a bottom one , and yes they will plug the vent if not covered or stuffed in tyvek.. Might be varying differences in pc's that cause some metal part to get hotter aluminum vs. stainless?, i dunno. I do know that stuffing myco bags in tyvec is so much easier then worrying about plugging the vent or the occasional melt or getting water into the bag.. too hot will melt them and of course running out of water dOh.. with the amount of bags made i think i will stick to putting them in tyvek, anyone else can judge for themselves.
