So, I've been a long time tobacco smoker.
After cigarettes in the states were mandated to be fire safe, the taste deterred me and put me in search for another form to get my fix.
I then stumbled upon a middle eastern tobacco called dokha, it's smoked out of a small pipe called Medwakh.
Well since I started smoking dokha, online prices have nearly tripled!!
I'm on a long path to self sustainability and I'd like to be able to grow my own dokha. But with many hours online searching, and even emailing vendors in UAE I have had no success in identifying what strain of tobacco dokha is.
Now I do understand that alot of what makes dokha, dokha is it's growing conditions. Being grown in the arid dry middle eastern desert, hot hot temps, little water, and a natural drying process using the hot desert sun.
I know I won't be able to mimic these conditions in the north eastern states.. But I would sure like having a chance at it and see how it turns out.
The only tobacco seed I can find from this region is TA18 IRANIAN TOBACCO. Tabacum Sherai Iranian.
So I'm asking. If any of our members are from UAE or surrounding counties and has any insight on Dokha Tobacco, I would very greatly like to hear what you have to say.
