[Skywatcher]

There is a new, member award.......

 

"Mentor Appreciation"        

 

This award is intended to give appreciation to those who have been a Mentor to other members, helping with questions and getting started, or any other reason you feel it is deserved. The most appropriate use IMO, would be to have the site members say who they would want this given to and briefly why.

 

I, or any other Mod, Site Admin, would then give the award on your behalf.

 

Please put your suggestions/ requests here in this thread, or PM a request to any Moderator and we will give the award to the deserving member.

 

There are a lot of good people here who have Mentored over the years, its a good part of what makes this site what it is today. We can all say thank you, going all the way back to our Founder, Hippie3 himself.....................

 

Nobody is excluded from this.

In my humble opinion, Sir, you should be at the top of that list Skywatcher. I nominate yourself as one of the top Mentors on this site. I would also have to add in TV Casualty, Alderlogs. Riseabovethethought, Heirloomspores, Neptunechild, and I could think of ten others by this evening and I will give it some thought. :)

I would like to nominate MLBjammer.

I can think of no one who is more helpful, or patient with new members.

He always has helpful, constructive advice, and gives encouragement. He is a great teacher to those of us that want to learn.

I feel he is the epitome of a mentor.

This is exactly what it means. Everyone can say thank you to anyone who you feel has helped or mentored you.

You are worthy Heirloom!       

 

I will start giving the awards as requested in all the posts above. Thank you to all who have made suggestions. I agree and second these.

I know its not really a mission here, more of a sideline or distraction really, but I would like to nominate, Pharmer, for all of the wonderful knowledge he has given me on photography.

I would personally like to nominate Zen, who works tirelessly to keep the servers running, the software up to date, and has been a mentor to many on the topic of sacraments here. I would also second all the nominations to Skye, MLBJammer, Alder, Heirloom, gosh... I could go on for awhile!!!!

Maybe its more of how the awards system works, in that its not possible to award yourself?  Someone else with 'awards' accessibility would have to offer [mentor] up to Skye, I would think.

OK< I am asking all mods, any mods, to PLEASE present this award to Skywatcher for all the awesome advice and help he has tirelessly given on this site. Rarely do I ever go to answer a post and not find Skywatcher's name already there and giving stellar and well thought out advice and sharing freely of his immense knowledge base. Mods, (Anyone who can present) I hereby officially nominate...again... Skywatcher for his outstanding service to the community. I know you can make this happen and I don't think the populace will settle for anything less! :) Thank you for your help whoever does his for him! :)
