Baby Kratoms are doing great. Couple of them have grown their third set of leaves. Even for a gnome, they're so tiny it's cute!

I got my seeds sprinkled yesterday and have my fingers crossed.

The same Vendor like you from west-europe, Gnomesayin?!

I have them sprinkled on my substrate in a small heated greenhouse. 80-90% humidty, about 28°C.

I've germinated so much this year...From the telegraph plant to desmanthus illinoensis, papaver, passiflora, brugmanisa, dozens of veggies...Adding Kratom to my seed grown family would be a blessings!

Peace be with you

I love this!

Can't wait for your updates. I still have so many seed i need to try, just haven't the room to start anything new. The germination rate on the first batch of rifat really surprised me and has kept me busy enough.

I was sorta forced into giving my cacti another watering this season with a mosquito dunk. Which so far has seemed to eliminate the fungus gnats in the house. All plants were dunked. I've since got a large 2'x4' seedling mat for the cacti closet (baby Kratoms in there too) to keep the roots warm while they dry out a bit, but this mat seems to sit at 91-93°f if I don't cushion it with a towel or cardboard. I've been testing temps for the young baby kratom seedlings, and they seem to be enjoying the warmer soil. Since increasing their day time temp to 91°f they've gotten more green in color and have exploded with growth. I think ill be starting to harden them off the humidity dome and into the green house conditions by next week, or they'll be lifting the lid!

After exactly one week I have the first germination. I misted the greenhouse and the pot twice daily, after waking up and before I go to sleep.

I pull the plug every night. Constant 28°C and 90% humidty for nearly 18 hours, the rest is at 20°C and about 60-70% humidty.

Hope that I will have a same germination rate like you will, Gnomesayin?!

Will start my own growlog to in my new ethnobotanical thread!

Peace

Well a couple of the kratom seedlings I felt were large enough to try and transplant a few into their own larger pot so that they may spread the roots and really start to take off and be ready for outside come this spring.

WP_20161217_13_56_02_Pro.jpg

I decided to try and just pull and uproot a couple of the larger seedlings to transplant, I'm curious how delicate the root system is and wether it will recover from such transplants.

WP_20161217_13_57_56_Pro.jpg

poked a hole in some soil

WP_20161217_13_58_11_Pro.jpg

Transplanted one seedling per pot (except one pot got 5)

I placed a zip lock over each pot to keep humidity high while the root system recovers. Half were placed in the warm cacti closet and the other half went into the mature kratom plant greenhouse.

This is great and we don't have a ton of threads on kratom.  Archive material, though we're gonna have to go through and rotate these pics!

Thanks bud. It is certainly difficult to find good information on the net regarding the cultivation of this wonderful plant.

I hope with time and a better understanding myself that this thread may be my greatest contribution to our community.

Blessings, Gnomesayin?!

So it would appear that bottom heat may be pretty important when transplanteing young kratom plants. The few seedlings I left in the cacti closet with no heating mat on don't appear to be taking well to the transplant. However the ones I put in the kratom greenhouse (seedling heat mat at 84°f) are thriving.

The seedlings gnome transplanted 2 weeks ago have really began taking off!!

Here's a shot of 2 weeks ago

And here's a shot today

All surviving transplants

Transplanted another 19 to their own pots

All transplants have their own sandwich baggy over them to act as a humidity dome. They'll be hardened off to the greenhouse in a week or two.

had a rifat clone that was kicking ass, they really liked the 4000k COBs

then i went to water it and knocked it off the counter top, it landed on the

stem and died.     the picture is of the rifat clone, it was super healthy

when it died, the leaves had a beautiful waxy coating and red veins on the

under side. i built a soil just for the kratom, it was coco coir, castings, local

quarry limestone, azomite, olivine, verm, alfalfa, kelp, and bone meal. i used

enough rock dusts to make the texture feel sandy instead of like compost.

i have 2 seedlings, i'm hoping they're kratom but they didn't start growing

bigger leaves like yours. i think they were malay, and maybe some maeng da,

i didn't label... derp. i will try to get a picture sometime here in the next couple

of days if i think about it.

Gnome finally got his new and improved kratom greenhouse up and running. With the much needed extra space. I plan to finish up transplanting all my seedlings to their own pots. Gnomesayin?!

No, they will acclimate to my summer outside conditions this growing season. But will overwinter in this greenhouse until I run out of space and have to accommodate them further.

Well. The gnome got around to transplanting some more.. So far 63 seedlings have been transplanted to their own pots. And larger plants have been transplanted to a larger and deeper container to really set them off into grow mode in the coming months well they'll go outside this spring.

I should also note I have started to use fox farms ocean floor amended soil. The seedlings seemed to really enjoy it so I've switched over all my kratom plants to this soil mix. And so far have just been giving them regular rain water. (just restocked my supply, thanks January thunderstorm!)

Gosh, Gnomesayin you're kickin it live with your babies!! It's exciting to watch. I really like fox farm too. I have my soil, I have my seeds, I'm following your thread, I just need a dome lid, or a pad heater to set these seeds off.

Transplanted some more seedlings, maybe 10 more left to do from original germination pots. Puts me at 82 transplants. I believe 75 or more are going to survive the transplants so far. All of which were done as I explained above in a previous post.

The first round of seedlings transplanted are going crazy. I'm going to have a sea of green in this greenhouse well before spring hits. I can't wait to get these babies outside this season!
