@ Hash_Man , I have had fairly good luck making fem seeds.
My selection  criteria was no females that produce male flowers.
Crossing the best females X females. Grow them out .

I never made commercial seeds  or sold any. I just wanted to understand breeding cannabis.

A few pics

Can anyone help identify the problem I am having with this plant.
I just seen this this morning, it was not there yesterday.

The plant is in coir and a 1 quart cup only a few weeks old.  I am getting ready to transplant.

My other plants look fine.

 Thanks for any help.

Looks like magnesium is that possible? If your in coco and/or calcium magnesium not being supplemented enough. You start getting into the 4th 5th week it can happen.

A few more pics the first 2 are clone M , transplanted into 3 gallon containers of coir. They are 14 inches tall

The 3rd pic is the OG  seems to be doing better after following Hash_ Mans advice on giving it some cal-mag.

I find growing hydro so much easier, but anm still learning to do soil and or coir. I see many using Fox Farm and thought about getting some bags to try.

I got more clones to come.

 thanks for your interest

EDIT- transplanted after pics taken

I just bought a 1.5 cubic bag if Fox Farm to work with.
I got a few clones that I need to do their best. I am going to compare the fox farm to coir.

I got a question will I need to add nutes to the fox farm?

If your talking about FF Ocean Forest you won't need to add anything at first but highly sugest adding a good amount of perlite (like almost a third) if your use to hydro remember that soil needs a higher pH.

I personally would still lightly add basic supplements on indica dom strains.

Edit: I just noticed that it looks like your wanting to use FoxFarm on the new clones so in that case I'd prolly wouldn't supplement at first.

Isn't ther per light already in the f.f. Soil? Hashman, your saying add even more? I find this soil a bit on the light side when it comes to
water drainage. It passes through quickly.

Heirloom, do you have any pearls of wisdom when it comes to clones?
I took a few clones the other day and only one looks like it's gonna make it. I took them all from the lower
parts of the plants, covered the bottom stem with a root starter goo. Is it normal to loose that many?

Its for more air . . more air more Oxygen that plants like, you can tell when your roots don't have enough air/oxygen when you leaves are not flat but more crinkly.

I've tried several ways to clone from rockwool cubes to tiny clear cups with perlite
and have used clear cups with fine vermiculite. I also use a heat mat set at 78 -80 F. A thermostat is needed with heat mats and they sell them separately. I also use a thermometer to make sure the temp is set right.
I use a rooting powder  for the above media.

The fastest way is water cloning
using a tub of tap water and an aquarium pump to aerate the water . With water there is no need for rooting hormones and its very common to see roots as soon as 4 days. I keep the water at about 80F

Another thing is I use like 20 watt flouro , so they get some light but not to strong.

I think some plants clone easier than others and have heard others say the same thing.

Clones can take 10 -20 days to develop a good root system.

I've lost clones as anyone has but when everything is right you will get a high percentage of clone some time 100%.

I don't often do a lot of clones I took 6 clones and got 5 , 1 in rockwool dried out and I lost it. Now I got a few more than I wanted.

I hope this has been of some help. I encourage anyone to add any info they think might be of some help.

Some pics of clone "K" and Kim in early flower. Young clones of K - AKA KIM 1 in a rockwool cube 1 cloned in vermiculite taken today and planted. Under 400 wt  induction light.

A pic of the mother plant K - KIM in 2 weeks of flower under a 400 wt MH.

Got more pics of M - Mike in flower and clone and the OG Kush. Almost ready to clone the OGK.

I should show how to make and use a water cloner- easy and fast.

I might have to use another 400 watt HID and my other box as
I have more clones than I needed. My wife has been after me to get my lazy ass growing.
I also need to take more clones and I still got a few of the OG Kush seeds to grow out.

With growing shrooms this is like a job.

Thanks Hashman, for the air advice.

Thanks Heirloom for the clone advice.
ive identified one of my three strawberry cough plants a female. Luckily the one clone that survived is from her.
Now that I have a positive I.D. I will cut some more clones.
Heirloom, your plants look great!

Heirloom, when you are making clones in airirated water, are you placing the clones in rock wool?.

Hashman, after looking at my girls, I noticed that the leaves don't sit flat but are more crinkle like.
I will definitely be adding some perlite next round. Also may use those fabric type grow pots as well

LakeGal I just put a hole in Styrofoam  stick the stem in and that's it, no rooting hormone just tap water they root very fast, if kept warm.

I've used large margarine tubs with a hole in the lid too. You can use an air stone or just stick the plastic hose in.

I'll get a pic up soon showing one , very easy and effective.

I hope your strawberry cough does real good.

Ok here is one thrown together in a few minutes. A tub ,air pump ,air hose, bubble stone weighted a small heater , thermometer and a sheet of Styrofoam.

I only took 2 clones and they are held in place by cutting a slice into the flex foam.

I'll keep the water @ 80F and probably change out my air pump for a 2 hose pump I have.

I've used long air stones and even no airstone. I may need to add more water to this one after
I put it in a big tub so I can hang a light above it.

I expect to have roots in 4-10 days, might add more clones tomorrow .

I have a lot of equipment packed away and I just used what was easy to grab.

I hope this helps.
