A pic of the clones I got from Hashman, I just want him to know
they are doing great.

A bud pic of buds given away of the ogk I got.

I expect bumps on the stem in a few days the bumps
develop a white spot where the root pushes out.

I am determined to get roots.

The Lemon Thai Pheno must root so I can pass it around to other growers.
We are counting on it for a harvest in a few months and this fall outdoors.

I know cloning this pheno is the best way to preserve special plants.

They are pretty stress free, I expect to root each one.

Edit: now that I'm looking at it. .. it must have been supercropped some.

Heirloom, do you ever have problems when taking the clones
out of the styrofoam? I cut mine out but still managed to break
off the best root off one of my clones

Yea that was one thing I ran into also, and I had problems getting them in and falling through too but my next try I'm going to get those neoprene Cloning Collars they make for some cloners

The roots do break easy I cut them out. The neoprene collars work good , they can be made if you can get a pool noodle, they are for kids to play with in the water cost $1 for a 6 foot long noodle. They are made of foam. cut to desired thickness and cut a slice in the side.

I thought about using them cause my Styrofoam is so thin.

Day 30

Not too bad concidering it's less than a gallon total of soil, I was afraid to run out of head room but now the next bunch will have 3 one gallon pots in the same space. I'll have to sharpen my cloning and rooting skills lol

Them babies sucking that water out 2x daily yet?

That extra maintenance on micro grows always gets me.

Looking good brother.

my .02 on "root bound" - The plant is wasting energy growing roots that are not adding to the effectiveness of plant growth. You only need a certain amount of root surface area per volume of soil - once the root/soil ratio tips the other direction, the root growth has diminishing returns, and if you keep watering and feeding that root mass, the foliage will continue outpace the root effectiveness.  Extra watering, extra nutes - can help bring that back into alignment, but you are now on a razors edge in terms of fragility. Also, the yields will be some % less than if the plant was simply in a bigger container. Hydro alleviates this problem, of course, and you can have the same effect in these tiny pots - but it's essentially manual hydro at that point. The soil quickly becomes a waste of space in a hydroponic environment - it would be more beneficial to increase the root mass. I want to phrase all of this differently, but I am tired. Hopefully the point comes across :)

Nice looking grow!

Neoprene collars are the stuff for NFT cloning/growing (my personal favorite as it got my cloning success from 0% to 98%) and has me going into 3rd year plants as cloning is awesome for expanding stock, not wasting resources to grow out a bunk plant more than once, and strain longevity.

I do soil and outdoor too. Each has it's advantages depending on your needs for the grow.

I JUST threw a system into 12/12 yesterday that was late getting in and very tall so I'm going to try the 36 hr. trick to see if I can arrest it close to where it is before flower. Thanks for that!

Considering my own log to describe the customized NFT system I ripped off from Stinkbud @ a different forum (who ripped it off from a commercial concern, that ripped it off NASA).

Very interested in your grow and results, Pulling up the lawn chair and cooler now.

" . .so I'm going to try the 36 hr. trick to see if I can arrest it . . "

You can try it shoomer, at first I thought it slowed stretching but ultimately in the end it was hard to tell.

Edit: it did seem to initiate the bud set pretty quick

Hashman
Gotta question
I'm thinking of adding a LEDs strip in my bloom tent.
I have a 400 wt hps in a 2w. x 4l. x 4.5h
I hoping to beef up the buds
My thoughts on using these strips would of course
add a bit more light and lighting on the parameter
giving the plants side lighting
What do you or anyone think about this
Thanx

Lakegal I think that side lighting might help the lower branches develop more bud. It seems to make
sense. How powerful are the led strips?

I have used led panels for side lighting. My last grow I didn't and my wife though we would of gotton
more buds. I have considered using either a T5 or T8 bulb on the side

I'll get some pics up with the leds used for side light. Any opinions would be welcomed,
