I have not found a topic on media entertainment and  what I am wasting my time watching.

So I started this Topic in General.  If it  already has been done, did and wiped off "mycotpia forums"  let me know,  move it or delete it.

For my first contribution.   Please chime with your favorite time killer.     I present.

Rick and Morty   This animated 4 year series is some of the funniest shit I have seen

in a very long time.   If cartoons or  adult animation is just not your thing,  watch one

episode and prove me wrong.

I recently watched community through also. What a ride. It took me a few to get used to it, and it got a little weird in some parts. But man what a good show once you get into it.
This is nowhere related to animation by any means but “Animal Kingdom” was incredible as well. The crime family show, not the actual animals.

Community is a great show, which a level of metaness never seen before. Tons of jokes that you won't catch till you rewatch. Lots of background gags that aren't even that noticeable either.

Avatar: The Last Airbender; is probably one of the best animated shows ever. Tackles some serious issues, while being fun, and not too serious.

The Midnight Gospel.

I loved this series and can't wait for a 2nd ... I really hope there is a 2nd.

The crazy stuff going on on screen doesn't always go with the narration/dialogue but it's all good! Even just listening to the dialogue is worth it IMO.

I am not familiar with Community?   Could you shoot a link if available,   I do have the means to acquire the almost any media.    If no link  Just   talk me to a channel or youtube vid.

Thanks

I have the full set of  "Avatar The Last AirBender" on my Media Server.    I watched about half of the 1st season and got sidetracked by my  dementia , as i often do.    I will revisit  and restart from  Go.

Thanks

Highly recommend the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion (aka New Century Gospel). I think it's a very interesting representation of the psychedelic experience. I've seen a lot of people read themes of escapism into the show, which I can get on with.

A significant part of the show deals with the psychosexual development of a cast of teenagers. This can become extremely uncomfortable, especially since the show hinges on the non-sexual exploitation of these teenagers.

I also highly do not recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion, because it's an anime. There is very rightfully a stigma that surrounds the anime industry and its consumption. I'll die defending the hill of anime-shaming; a lot of it is absolutely degenerate, which might sound strangely puritanical on a drugs forum, but I am nothing if not a hypocrite.

All told, the best strategy is to watch it while flexing your thumbs until they're sore as atonement.

Let me know if you need any help downloading media. I'm a big advocate for piracy. I make no promises, but I'll try to be a help.

Holy poop on a stick.   I watched a 1 hour dissertation on youtube on the entire show and i am unworthy.  Even broken down into basics and explanation of the shows formula,  I could not get my brain to concentrate.    I did chose not to post this channels 1 hour breakdown, as it would be  the biggest spoiler alert in history.     thanks a lot for your contribution.

It's on Hulu currently, it was on NBC originally.

Community is about a group of unlikely friends bonding over a shitty community college. Starring Donald Glover, Chevy Chase, Ken Jeong, Alison Brie, Joel McHale, and a few others. Really funny, goofy, lighthearted show, that loves to parody and play homage to classic movies.

It hit a rough part in I believe the 4th season, but overall I really enjoyed it and have re-watched it multiple times to catch jokes/gags that weren't apparent on the first run.

Justin Roiland (from Rick & Morty) co-created another strange show called Solar Opposites that's ...interesting. It's like a surreal mashup of Rick & Morty, American Dad, and Bob's Burgers.

I'm not sure what to make of it yet. It has its moments, and it also has its ...other moments.

I am on it.   I was so sad to learn that Rick and Morty was cancelled after the 4th popular season.   Yet Simpsons is its frigging 45th year.

Solar Opposites was very easy to find thanks.

I personally didn’t care for solar show. Community was written by Dan also. That is why is shows much of the same meta, and 4th wall equation. Sorry I didn’t reply but it on a few streaming services. Netflix for sure.

The fourth season premiered on November 10, 2019, and consists of ten episodes. A fifth season was confirmed in July 2020, as part of a long-term deal in May 2018 that ordered 70 new episodes over an unspecified number of seasons.

The most recent season of R&M felt kinda weak, and the previous seasons don't really hold up very well to multiple watches. There's only so much "haha funne cynicism" a man can take.

Breaking Bad on the other hand? I'm on my 10th watch of Breaking Bad and it's still as good as the first time.
