This year for growing is off to a much better start than last year. Unfortunately after giving them the mañana treatment for too long, they are reaching my fence line and I have 2 more months of veg. After the photo was taken, they received their first trimming.

1st photo, L-R: Citrus Sap x Purple#2, Chernobyl hybrid F-3 and Feminized Jack Herer.
2nd photo, L-R: Romulan x Chernobyl, Fruitella x Purple#2
3rd&4th photo, albino ladybug?

looking great! Real curious about the albino lady bug! I always  make sure there are some on my grows, but the albino looks really cool! I hope she sticks around for more photo ops!

Nice plants Yoshi! I got stuff flowering already outside. You? I hope my shit don’t start re-vegging! Ahhh. I think it will be alright. It will be insane if they do re-veg.

Thanks!

Enjoil, I noticed my Citrus Sap hybrid is starting to bloom, not what I want right now, waaaay to early. She may have picked up some ferts from nearby vegetables. I might give her a little extra N to see I can pull her out of it.

Good luck w/your grows this year Myco friends!

A quick update, the Citrus Sap hybrid didn't stop blooming. I've been growing for years now and never had a plant do this. Maybe somewhere in the jumble of genetics I have some autos? So, a few weeks ago, I gave it some organic 5-10-10 granules and will add some 5-8-4 in a week or 2. I've already been using BT, the caterpillars have been brutal. I even had to scout a shady place outside for drying. Normally I'd dry in my garage but it is a furnace this time of year and would dry and decarb the freshly picked plant, all in the same day.

An unfortunate development, the Fruitella hybrid which was the only plant not to reveal it sex in Spring, is a male. I really enjoy Fruitella so I may end up keeping it to cross into the others?

I had to severly prune them all back again and expect to one more time before August.

Fingers crossed!

my mystery machine plants have still not revealed their sex, but my Moroccan landraces are already coming into the home stretch! It's amazing watching an early sativa do it's thing in the middle of summer!

Looking sweet Yoshi !

I hear you on the garage temps. I don't have any idea where I will be drying this year, since it would seem we have late August temperatures all summer long this year.......

Well, it looks like I'll have sinsemilia this year. I've been fighting the big Fruitella male for a couple of weeks now, hacking him back and trimming any bloom spikes. He wanted to start blooming but the other ladies werent quite ready and my Citrus Sap that is in bloom is almost done. I got tired of worrying about it so yesterday he was culled. The male graft I did also died, it wasn't getting enough light and the plant sent the energy elsewhere.

The Citrus Sap x purple #2 is getting close, hopefully in the next week or two. (porn below) The other ladies were given their final trim and some 5-10-10 organic granules a few days ago. The new growth has hairs forming. I don't expect these ladies to be done until late Oct, early November.

Well, I harvested the Citrus Sap x Purple #2 a few days ago. It became a reminder to trust your instincts. The plant had white fly damage and was a little fluffy from the 100F++ temperatures it dealt with. I thought about it and should have just done it all but instead, I placed 2 1-gallon ziplocs of bud in the freezer, fresh. The rest, I hung in the shade, under 4 layers of shade cloth. What would normally take 4-5 days in my garage in the Fall took 1.5 days outside. The buds were dry, almost too dry. I placed them in an "under the bed" style plastic tub on my garage floor. By the next day, they had picked up some moisture. By this time, I  came to my senses and put it all except a few of the top colas in the freezer. Over the next 2 days, the clean colas were "cured" and put in jars. I'll make the fresh/frozen bubble hash tonight and the rest, tomorrow or the next night.

The rest of the flowers left in the ground are starting to get covered in blooms. Hopefully it'll go a little smoother w/them!

The will to reproduce is a strong force in nature! Here is a sprout from the base of the Fruitella male that I chopped out. At this point, I wouldn't mind a little pollen for the ladies.

Yoshi, I'm having trouble resolving my gut feeling vs the objective look of the trichomes on my Moroccan grow. Since it seems you harvested early, and under the same ultra warm growing conditions I've been seeing, I wanted to get your opinion. Did you wait for amber trichomes to appear, or did you harvest when the rest of the plant looked ready? That is my quandary right now. Theoretically, I should have harvested by August 7 or so, but it's been very hot here, and there are very few trichomes started to turn dark. Also, the one plant I pollenated has been dropping mature looking seeds, but even there, no trichomes are past the milky white stage.  I'd hate to harvest too soon, especially since these are sativas, but I'd also hate to miss out waiting for something that may not happen naturally this year.

Personally with Sativas, I don't like too many amber trichomes, milky throughout w/a few ambers would be good 4 me. I don't really know much about the land race varieties you are growing, maybe they have a long harvest window? Maybe harvest 1 then wait a week or two then another?

Good luck!

I forgot, you can gentle rub smaller buds with your fingers, roll that into a ball off your fingers and "test it".

Milky for Sativa is the only way for me, I want it as racy as possible.

I almost started some seeds today, perhaps for outdoors. Perhaps for my tent. Decided not to as I'm being impulsive and need the tent for culinary.

Been getting the itch to grow and smoking way too much crappy dispensary bud. Just taking notes! Looking great.

I probably should have mentioned that I've been doing just that for a few weeks now! Nice clean charas!

Thanks for your input, I like the idea of a test harvest, had been tossing it around for a few days now, so I think I will go chop one now!

About 15g of bubble hash with 7 of it (top left) being 73 micron super sticky fragrant (hopefully) "full melt". Thanks to Utube, I became a better hash maker this time. The leftover flower was still a little sticky so I redried it and put it back in the freezer for a dry ice run.
