So very excited about my next grow. We will call this grow # 2.5 in my new space. The first (# .5) was veg’ed at the old place. Transferred to the new place and they promptly failed from shock and the heat of summer in the new room. I used the living soil style for this and my last grow. Through YouTube and the Build a Soil channel “10x10” series of episodes I found a style that has clicked for my attention style to growing. The grease and odor/flavor I have on my grow I just chopped is the best I have ever had. Pleased with the tester buds I clippped a week ago. Already had a little flavor with a quick dry.

These seeds are the freshest seeds I have had the chance to work with. I am going to germinate 3 of each strain and My goal will be 2 of each strain using 10 gal fabric pots. If i get a 3rd I will run those in 5 gallons. I feel I have a really nice mix of mental healing (anaphylaxis), medical healing and just a feel good strains (putang and pakman). Got these seeds off the DC Seed Exchange.

Soaking seeds today.

I will def be trying to fill out the canopy in the field of light. I have 3 3x3 fields right next to each other so the full space will be 3x9. I did not do any scrog/trellis netting last time and def felt the decreased results.

Here is the 2nd topping.
First top dress running around 3 tlbs per gallon Dr Earth veg dry amendment mixed with worm castings all hydrated with and watered in to containers with a sprouted seed tea made with lentil, corn, and a couple black eyed peas I saved from 5-7 years ago to see if they were still able to germinate. The left over seed mass was added to a 5 gallon bucket with some brown sugar and a hand full of worm castings and some of the veg dry amend and bubbled for a couple days and used to start regular watering. I usually just fill the bubble bucket back up with plain water and continue to water a more dilute tea each time. More just to use the left overs. I will brew specific teas for waterings when needed.

There was a little over watering when transfers from solo cup to 1 gal fabric pots. I let the plants rest a little too long between transfer and things got a little dry. Over watering happened while evening out the soil moisture. Really only lost a couple of the lower first leaves on a couple of the plants.

Targeting towards the 5% - 10% watering level by soil volume in container. Trying to keep toward the 5% side. For 1 gal that would be about .8 of a cup I have a little less soil volume then 1 gallon for space so roughly watering at a little less then a cup but more then 3/4C76505A0-F33D-4E01-A86A-A4B5AFD4DB13.jpeg

Thank you.

I prefer LST over topping personally, especially when starting early on in the plants growth with a good branching strain. it it’s difficult to maintain a tie down or stale down when playing the up-pot game. I’ve seen lots of discussion that the up-pot is a benefit for hydro grows more then a living soil type grow.

Do One topping (4 nodes is best, I used to run 6, but the plants get too wild with 6) and then LST for a flat canopy.  I'm not exactly sure what you mean about Soil grows not liking "Up Potting", I grow 25 - 30 inch plants in a Five gallon smartie and they are embedded by the time it's all said and done.  Those gallon pots are already too small for the size your plants are currently.  Healthy plants will rip through a small pot in 2 weeks like clockwork.  I hope you aren't trying to flower in those, you will have to water WAY too much and it limits the size of the plant.  Not exactly sure how big or how many you are going with, but it gets crowed in a tent QUICKly.  All the best and I hope you cross the finish line.

Please edit your post
I did not post “soil grows not liking up potting”

Please read the first post for pot size and plant count.
Post 6 gives the final plant count and breakdown of the strain count
Room not tent in the first with flowering light field with in that room in post 9

Thank your for you vote of confidence this early into my grow. with your “hope” that I make it to the finish line.

Nice documentation Stray Dog !

Looking good,

I will be following along as you progress. I just popped my seeds for the year and am awaiting the first sprouts above soil.

These sound like interesting strains. Good grow vibes to you.......................

Now that I think about it I may go with the 3 Pak Man together in a 100 gal container. Living soil benefits are easier the larger the soil volume and I know my worms would love the space. They would do some great conditioning of this rounds version of my soil. After this harvest it is going to be the start up of a couple of outdoor grow beds in plan for the property in the orchard. Lots of outdoor projects, their timeline and finances dictate if and how many plants I would do outdoor this year. It will be first and don’t want to plant to just neglect
I will not be able to grow indoor over the summer. Too hot to flower. Also need to see how much soil I have and still be able to get the other 3 plants in 10 gals like originally planned.

Fungi mycelium is also very important as it usually connects to roots and gives nutrients in exchange for sugars from the plants.

I have some strawberry plants that I brought with me from my old place. When I dug them out the roots were covered in mycelium as was most of the soil in that area of the bed. Being they are fungus attracting I am hoping they brought enough with them to add diversity when I plant them in my beds.

That’s cool. I think I’ll wander back out of here for a while. Feeling a little attacked and yes my feelings are hurt. I get this from all the other grow sites and I returned here because I did not think I would get this treatment .

I suggest you both drop the personal criticism and attitude.

Put down the sharp sticks an back away...................................

A difference of opinion does not warrant a personal attack.

Consider this a warning.
