Undoubtedly one of you DV8's here know about burner phones

 

My purpose is not to call Walter White. My purpose is to have a phone number I can give to all these assholes who want a phone number when I make a reservation somewhere, for example, which gives them the right to use my cell phone for their marketing purposes forever. The assholes.

 

What do I need to know? Where to get it, Any tips on their use?

Oh, I hate giving out my actual number! I resist whenever possible. Some apps can be used to generate a throw-away number that they can call instead of your actual number.

 

If you want a genuine secondary phone account, try Tello. They have cheap plans (very cheap), and you can plonk their sims into a simple dumbphone. That's my tactic. :)

Go to walmart and get a $30 phone with Net10, or whatever low budget service they have now. You can charge it and use it as needed and buy a phone card by the minute to keep it activated.
