I've come across a PDF from Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo that describes micropropagation techniques of Lophopora williamsii.

MICROPROPAGACIÓN DE Lophophora williamsii

I am particularly interested in the recipe for the nutrient media used to propagate L. williamsii.

I suspect more than one
formulation is tested and the "best" is revealed in the conclusions section. It mentions MS w/ 1.5mg/L of benzyladenine.

If anyone is able to translate I would be grateful!

If you go to Google Translate
Select from Spanish
Select to English
Click on the link translate a document.
Enter/paste your url and click open
The service will give you a pretty good look at what the document says in English.

Do you still need help with this MrGumball?

The article was just too large to translate wholesale - The above suggestion looks very promising.
Thank you for the link - I've been waiting for this a long time.

Yes Myc, I do.

I'd like to steer clear of any translation software due to concerns for accuracy. I used it enough while trying to pass high school spanish to know it's not always accurate.

The link no longer works... I though I had downloaded it but I can not find my copy. Does anyone have the pdf they could upload to the site directly?

Could just be a browser issue.
The first link provided in the first post still works. I haven't checked the others.

You might want to ask Spanishfly if he could help...he is big into growing Lophophora williamsii and lives in Portugal or Spain I do believe. wt

So...

I been baked most of the day and kind of bored...

I started the translation of this PDF and its going pretty fast as most of the pages are not even close to full.

Probably be half way through it tonight only spending like 3sh hours on it... kind of fun learning a few new words like germinating and acclimation..

If anyone still wants an English copy of it I should have it done tomorrow maybe Wed at the latest.

I will have the first half done for sure tonight before I go to bed.

Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Yes, this is still needed. I'm a lazy bastard. It's hard for me to find the motivation to re-write this paper in English. Most of the intro and commentary is not necessary. The method and tables are pretty easy to read even without a knowledge of Spanish.

I've sat down to begin this project dozens of times. Then, I get bogged down in all of the  acknowledgements and nods to various contributors and schools.

Once again, the media prep method, chemicals and proportions are fairly easy to extrapolate even without understanding Spanish. The paper doesn't even get down to the "meat and potatoes" until page 22 (of a 43 page article).

Page 22 is the best starting point for a translation - unless you want to honor the author by translating the whole thing.

I gave it a go until I got tired. There's a small segment from the first sections that I translated by mistake, and then I went from page 22 to page 27. There are some typos, and it could use a quick review by a native english speaker since I'm no professional translator and I don't know that much about the topic of the thesis (plus there is a lot of cientific language.) I also haven't included the original pictures and graphs simply because it would take me more time.

If any of you care to download this and review the typos and the syntax, mabye include the original pics and graphs and then upload it again here (in PDf format), I could continue with a phase 2 and 3 of translation for the rest of the document.

Hope this helps.
